his real form is a youkai dog... so i guess he has a tail.
Whether Inuyasha has it or not... only time will tell.
But I don't think he has one, maybe if he was a true youkai, though.

maybe Inuyasha's human shape took over a little more in that area?

the thing is... if you remember the episode where Sesshoumaru-sama (ok... ill do ya the favour for a while) talks to the tree where the seaths for the swords came from, it says... Inu Yasha, doesnt transform.... its just his fathers blood that takes over... refering to IY's transformation is actually not a transforming into Youkai but a rage (excactlly like Berserker mode)

it also says that since IY is a half demon, this procces might turn dangerus as his body cannot keep up with that blood...

if transformation into youkai would be the case... then the previus line wouldnt be valid...

I think Inu and Sess are of Akita stock, or something very similar...not American Akita (which are crossed with Bull Mastiff), but the fluffy white Japanese-native Akita. They have cute pointy ears and curly/poofy tails. And it's easy to verify that Sesshou does have a tail in his full youkai form. Interestingly enough, he still has the Fuzzy too...somewhat disproving the theory that the fuzzy = his tail.

Sesshoumaru-sama is a total diva.
That's why he has that ... fuzzy thing...
I like Sesshoumaru-sama's clothes and all, though.
But why does he have a cresent moon in his forehead?

The first time I watched the series, Tasuki and Tamahome were my favorites (I was so into the Miaka/Tamahome thing that I didn't pay too much attention to the rest of the charries... the tessen caught my attention though :wink: ). But after the events of manga 8/episodes 30-33, I started to really like Nuriko (ironc, ne?). I watched the series again and fell in love with his charrie

yea i dont think that inuyasha has a tail either. and my main argument for this is because. ewww that would be wierd. :-) i just cant imagine it. gives me goose bumps.

as for the ears i think that japanese animators have trouble telling the difference between a cat and a dog. just check out exel saga. is menchi a cat or a dog. everyone says thats a cat but no not the animators it is a dog. i think that is wierd. but ive gotten used to the ears now and i think that floppy snoopy ears would look weird on a fighter

but i do know that fluffy does and that thing over his sholder is his tail. if you dont believe me go back in the archives of anime and pull out the episoid where sess "transforms" that thing on his sholder comes up and becomes his tail. atleast thats what it looks like i bet the menga people could tell better. i havent read that.

I've never seen any official anime or manga images of Inuyasha with a tail so I think its safe to say that he doesn't have one. I'm guessing that the reason why he doesn't have a tail is because he's a hanyou so he didn't inherit all the features of a full dog-youkai from his father. I think his ears are either a hanyou specific feature or that his father had dog ears as well as the fluffy tail-like things I've seen him with in the 3rd movie preview. The two sons must have inherited different dog-features from their father. (Sesshoumaru's mother could have been a different type of youkai so his could have gotten his pointy ears from her.)

I'm not quite sure what Sesshoumaru's fluffy thing is. A tail seems like the most likely explanation but it doesn't seem to be attached to him whilst he's in his more human-like form. It definately seems to be made out of dog fur though and I've seen him use it to attack in both the anime and the manga and there was that time when it seemed to be bleeding. (Sesshoumaru and Jakotsu's fight in Vol.27/Episode 116) Then again, maybe it just is really overgrown armpit hair.

Yeah, Inuyasha's ears do look more like cat ears than dog ears but there are actually quite a few Japanese breeds of dog that have little pointy ears like he does. I'm guessing that RT was thinking of a dog like an Akita when she came up with his character design.

I see where they got the idea for Inuyasha's ear but why doesnt Sesshoumaru's ears in his true from match Inuyasha's ears.

and as I think of it. Inu's dad in the movie three trailer has the same ears as Sesshoumaru in his true froms.

Inuyasha has the attitude of an Akita, too. Generally, they're VERY independant, not really that eaily train (compared to, say, Dobies and German Shepards), they're fighters, and they're actually pretty headstrong. Most people don't reccommend first-time dog owners to ever get Akitas since they're also known to be agressive.

Plus they're native to Japan. More reason to think of Inu and an Akita. Heeheehee.

Personally I love Akitas. Beautiful dogs.
