Full Version: Upcoming Episodes Spoiler Discussion
#Animeforever > Animeforever Closed Projects > Inuyasha
Pages: 1, 2
Spectrum
I know there's a specific forum for spoiler topics, but I did check the rules for this forum, and there's nothing against posting spoiler threads here so long as they're specifically marked, which this thread is. And, well, the spoiler forum is pretty much empty. I'd really like to have a good discussion about the upcoming Inuyasha episodes with other people who have read the manga and have a general idea of what's supposed to happen, and it seems like most of those people are over here. Still, I guess it's up to the moderators to decide if this thread should be moved or deleted or not.

In the meantime, anyone else out there keeping up with the IY manga? Those who are are probably spoiled enough to know that the next few episodes of Inuyasha should be pretty awesome. For all the Miroku/Sango fans out there (and the Kagura fans too!), I know 118 is a hotly anticipated ep. (It just might become my new favorite, but we'll see.) And it seems that we'll finally see Inuyasha transform into a human again in the same episode, something I've also been looking forward to. 119 should be really good as well--Inuyasha VS. Jakotsu at long last! And a lot more of human Inuyasha. smile.gif

I've been waiting a whole year for the anime to finally get to this point--for me, this is where the Shichinin-tai saga really picks up. With every new episode Animeforever and Fangirl Friday have released, I've been counting down to this. I can't wait!

If anyone wants to see screenshots from the episodes that haven't made it over here yet, this site here is one of the best-kept IY secrets on the 'net: Inu-Yasha Information from Japan. On a good week, they've been known to have a fresh batch of screenshots up the day right after the episode airs in Japan. The site is also the quickest and most reliable source for episode titles and airing schedules I've found. (I really think Sengoku Jidai is stealing the episode title info from this site. tongue.gif)

Check out the shots from 118 (houshi-sama! Wai!) and 119! And by all means, discuss. happy.gif What is everyone else looking forward to in the Shichinin-tai saga that we have yet to see?
MMD
Sounds good. Too bad I read about this months ago. tongue.gif
Spectrum
Well, that's the whole point. wink.gif If you've read about it and know what's going to happen, you don't have to wait until the episode airs to discuss it. And at least the screenshots are more-or-less brand new.

I'm curious about episode 120 right now. It's titled "Requiem for Jakotsu" or something like that, so I'm wondering what the anime is going to do there. In the manga he pretty much just died, and Bankotsu was a little sad when he found out, that was all--hardly something worthy of titling an episode after. Maybe there'll be some flashback or something the manga didn't have? That would be nice... I'd be very interested in a little more backstory on my favorite Shichinin-tai.

The episode is being delayed a week, though, so it'll be a while before we get to see it. Still, I'm looking forward to it.
Celestial_Miaden
I love the two sites you mentioned. I really appreciate the effort these people have done and every time they have new info i am so happy smile.gif
I think that after the Shichinin-tai point the manga gets better and better. Although I was really upset that Kikyo reappeared.
devi
i guess since this is a spoiler post -- I dont need to hide the fact that THIS IS GONNA BE A SPOILER!

I was shocked to see inuyasha in his human form in ep 119, I guess that's the doing of the barrier? He looks ADORABLE!! I cant wait to see these episodes. Though, in the past he's always gotten the $#^% beat out of him in his human form, so i'm guessing he's gonna end up half dead in ep 120
Patrioil
Neither can I wait for episode 119!
I wanna see Inuyasha helpless!
But I still like his hanyou form better,
he Kagome looks like siblings when he's human.

I'm still looking forward to episode 120...
Jakotsu's Farewell... it's so sad...
I don't want him to die! He looks like Nuriko!
The whole Miroku + Sango doesn't interest me.
Sorry you Miroku + Sango lovers out there. ^^
I'm also looking forward to the next ep. of course.

"honoo no kawa ni kieta aitsu"
he dissapeared in a river of flames.
Inuyasha vs Renkotsu, or what?
How can they dissapear in the flames...? *lol*
JoOjOoBeAnS
I can't wait for the upcoming episodes too! AF-F will always release HQ episodes cool.gif .

[Obviously this is already a spoiler thread, but the post below contains bigger spoilers than most, so please don't read unless you're absolutely certain it won't bother you.]

Big news (at least to me): The titles for episodes 123 and 124 have been released!

Ep.123 Regenerate Naraku Beyond Darkness
Kurayami no Saki ni Sinsei Naraku

Ep.124 Farewell, My Lovely Kikyou
Saraba Itoshiki Kikyou Yo

Take a look at them, and you can immediately see why I consider it to be big news--we're finally moving on past the Shichinin-tai saga. It looks like the anime isn't going to waste any time, and the final showdown in Mt. Hakurei is just going to be a big one or two-episode blowout. And right after that comes Kikyou's death, one of the most serious parts of the series since the broken Tetsusaiga and Inuyasha's youkai transformation, I think. I can't wait to see it played out in the anime.

After that's done with, my prediction is that the anime will have another brief round of filler eps before moving on to the next saga (Naraku Jr/Hakudoushi, I believe). But not before they get to the Oni-Women story at the end of volume 29, I hope. biggrin.gif

Man, I can't wait to see the anime version of Naraku's kick-butt new body. With the spikey thingies and the claw thingies and the dragon tail thingies... And then Kikyou getting maimed. W00T! I dislike Kikyou.

But, man, that happens in episode 124 already? I thought it took longer to get to the Kikyou-impaling-throwing-off-cliff goodness in the manga. I'm just afraid that if they move too far forward too fast, we're gonna end up with another 20 filler episodes in a row like with the last season.

By the way, what ever happened to Kouga? He seems to fall off the edge of the world or something after the Shichinintai arc.
Spectrum
The very first thing Naraku did after blowing up Mt. Hakurei and everything was to go and confront Kikyou, so yeah, the anime's timetable is right on track. I had thought it took a little longer too, so I went back and reread that part.

I like Kikyou, but her supposed death brought Inuyasha and Kagome closer for a little while, and caused a lot of angst as well, which is always good, so I'm really looking forward to it. happy.gif

I'm also a bit nervous anticipating all the filler we'll probably get, but hey, who knows? Maybe we won't get so many episodes this time. And the last bunch of filler epis weren't too bad, all things considered, though they did start to grate on you after a while. But it'll just make it all the more exciting once things finally get moving again.

And now that you mention it... what did happen to Kouga? huh.gif
Bankotsu-sama
Even if they do throw alot of Filler episodes, at least that makes for more episodes and occasionally a filler is kinda cool. The cats filler was pretty entertaining, and a few others have been watchable.

I just really wish they wouldnt kill off Bankotsu, He is 10 times the villain Naraku is but unfortunately i know hes gonna be gone pretty soon.

Episode 120 pics are up! Poor Jakotsu... sad.gif

You can see Kikyou comforting Hakushin-shounin, who is probably the absolute creepiest thing I've ever seen. Geez, I knew he was all shriveled up and old--but I was not expecting those eerie yellow eyes! We should get to see him in 119... I wonder if he sounds as creepy as he looks. Eee...

I can't wait to see Renkotsu get what he deserves, though. He's had it coming to him for ages. When the time comes, I'll be cheering on Bankotsu as hard as I can, believe me. Of course, after that he'll be the sole member of the Ichinin-tai...

I am a bit confused by one thing--why is there a picture of Jakotsu and Bankotsu on YTV's 121 preview?

Eh? Must be a flashback... huh.gif

I got so freaked out when I saw him! He's so creepy!
I'm so glad I didn't show that episode to all my nieces!
They thought Hakushin Shounin was creepy enough in ep. 114!

I know! "Raisin monk" doesn't even begin to describe him here. blink.gif Now he actually looks like an undead zombie, unlike the Shichinin-tai (thankfully).

::snickers:: Yeah, I lurk on a Japanese message board/blog that posts summaries and comments on each episode the day they air, usually. She's obviously a big Jakotsu fan, so at the top of today's entry, she wrote: "Since he died, I've been feeling kinda down in the dumps". ^_^* This comment amused me, too:

"... Huh? Sesshoumaru-sama?! Well, okay... he didn't have any lines, so I guess that's why he didn't make it on the cast list [on the next episode section of YTV's site]..."

Of course, why Fluffomaru is in this episode at all to begin with is anyone's guess, especially if he doesn't say anything. Maybe it's just a "Hey, remember me from four episodes ago? Yeah, I'm still here." Or they just really wanted another chance to caption him (really, we know everyone's name now. They can stop doing that).
Spectrum
Well, episode 121 aired a few hours ago in Japan, and there's pictures up once again. (Including one of pretty-much-nakkid Bankotsu on the top page. ohmy.gif Looks like a flashback to when the Shichinin-tai were originally revived.)

And 121 obviously ends in a cliffhanger, judging by the 122 preview at the official site:

IPB Image

Looks like it'll be a helluva battle! I couldn't really judge how cool a fight it would be just by reading the manga translations (I definitely didn't think it would take two episodes), so I'm really looking forward to this. cool.gif

Hey Patches, do you have a link to that message board/blog? My Japanese reading skills aren't that great, but it still sounds interesting.

See what Japanese Inuyasha fangirls ramble about! She cracks me up, and being the obvious Sesshoumaru fan that she is, hopefully she'll give a rundown of the third movie soon after it comes out.

Hoo yeah. Episode 122's done, so the episode 123 preview is now up:

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. I've been waiting for Naraku to get his new body. Interesting color choices, though.... especially that clashing yellow ribbon.

There credits also list a character simply called "baby", but I'm going to guess this is Hakudoushi, and likely also has the same voice that Hakudoushi will eventually get. This voice being Kobayashi Ai, whose only other role that anyone here would know is that of Electra from the Cowboy Bebop Movie. ::snrk:: Hakudoushi is a gun-totin' secret agent lady, yo!

Yes--Naraku is finally back in true evil style. cool.gif I can't wait to see the episode, though it'll be at least a few more weeks before we get it. But man... we haven't had a Naraku VS. Inu-tachi battle since ep 81, so this is going to be good. biggrin.gif

And then in episode 124 we'll get to see him right back at his evil tricks as he bumps off Kikyou. Heh... I think I've almost missed Naraku. The series kind of drifts away from what it should be focusing on after a while if he isn't around.

Naraku was the reason i watched Inuyasha...
cus he was sucha mysterious villain at first

And I just love those clothes. tongue.gif so cool
Why did he have to hide in a stupid Mt. for so long?
Keh! I say, Keh! Well, at least we has Sessh to feast on

Ummm, is it just me or has Naraku been getting kinna.... hot looking lately. I always thought his human form was cute but he is slowly working his way up there. blink.gif rolleyes.gif

Spoilers

You realize that he basically stole Bankotsus shards and like whatever merged with him right? That's just wrong. I mean yeah I know he has common sense with not merging with Jakotsu but so what? It's still wrong.
Spectrum
Well, I sometimes think Naraku would pretty much absorb everything into his body if he could. That's just how he is. He sees someone or something that's strong, and decides he wants it for himself. Of course it's wrong (hence he's the villain), but it's nothing new.

And it's more like he stole Bankotsu's shards back, since they were his to begin with. wink.gif

Naraku is a kickass villain. cool.gif And I agree with Midnightsq, he's even pretty hot... when he isn't looking half-melted like he sometimes does, that is.
Spectrum
Ah, well...

Ep.125 Darkness in Kagome's Heart
Kagome no Kokoro no Yami

Ep.126 Change Heartache into Courage!
Kokoro no Itami wo Yuuki ni Kaero

Ep.127 Don't Boil! The Horror Dried Youkai
Nichadame! Kyouhu no Himono Youkai

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the title of that last one (and probably the one before it, too) means we are indeed going to be seeing another round of filler episodes after we finish with the Shichinin-tai and the introduction to Naraku Jr. I guess the upside to this is that speculation on the upcoming eps will become a lot more interesting once nobody has any clue what will be happening. tongue.gif

Unfortunately, the downside for me concerning all this is that we didn't get to the Oni-Women story before getting attacked by filler... sigh. sleep.gif

True, I guess that is one positive aspect of filler. Well, with the pace they've been moving, they'd need to stop SOMETIME, or threaten to overtake the manga, which would just be bad. The "Change Heartache into Courage" I could see as being where Kagome confesses she loves Inuyasha to break the spell on her (so that the part where she's controlled by the baby lasts two episodes), so that wouldn't necessarily be filler. As for the "Horror Dried Youkai", unless we're talking about Raisin Monk, that doesn't sound like anything familiar to me.

But, it's strange that they're starting the filler there and not a couple episodes earlier, since now they've already introduced Hakudoushi for a couple episodes, then just wandered down a different path. Granted, I guess there was some filler-y stuff at this point in the manga, anyway. Eh, ah well. We'll see what the originals come up with this time.

They probably decided to cut things off here because it's cleaner--there really isn't any good place to stop before Inuyasha rescues Kagome from Hakudoushi/Naraku Jr. Naraku kills Kikyou right at the end of the Shichinin-tai saga, and Inuyasha doesn't fully accept it until after Kagome gets kidnapped... so unless they wanted to have a bunch of filler eps with him acting all depressed, they pretty much had to keep going for a little bit until they finally came to a point without any obvious cliffhangers.

Um, huh? I just found out something random. It looks like there's going to be an insert song in episode 124. That's the episode where Kikyou "dies". I've found news about a song called "Sotsugyou ~ Sayonara wa Ashita no Tame ni" by Tackey & Tsubasa that's apparently going to play somewhere in that episode. Thing is, this song's already been released, and is even currently used in a digital camera commercial.

::does some digging:: Ah, found a recording of it. ... Yeah, this sounds like something Inuyasha can angst to. Or maybe they'll do a Kikyou musical montage or even have a special ending. Dunno, but since I'm seeing this information on multiple Japanese sites, I'd say it's somewhat valid.

But, for those of you who wanna hear the song beforehand, here ya go.

Cool news. Thanks for the link. It's a really nice song... like you said, it sounds like something for a Kikyou tribute or something. (Though I'm not sure how many people would appreciate that. wink.gif ) A montage, or just showing Inuyasha's reaction, or maybe both... something like that. I can't think of what else it would possibly be.

Well, at any rate, I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Er, I know sites with romanized lyrics like here.

Here, I'll give it a shot. I am by no means fluent, and AFF-FGF will probably have to translate the song on their own, anyway, but I can try to get the gist of it:

"Graduation ~ Farewell for Tomorrow's Sake"

If it was one and only one thing
And it could be granted, what would you pray for?
Where are you now? Who are you with now?
You look up into the blue sky and softly ask this.

With you, I'd be at your side in an instant, but you're not there
With you, when you leave, promise you won't change.

For one thing, we're thinking of you
Because our wish for your warmth to be near has yet to come true
A pained sigh suddenly escapes
I hope to fly away and reach you in that far-off place.

In the future I'll surely be gone
Only that have I finally realized.

For me, you gave me reason to stand tall when I was confused
For me, the smile that hid my troubled eyes

For one thing, we'll be saying goodbye
That I want to be near you, is what I'd whisper
But I can't voice these helpless feelings
So hopefully at least this prayer will reach you

These unending feelings can pierce the sky
Sometime when you're walking all alone

And so for that day when the cherry blossoms fly
And the light of my feelings is reflected
A pained sigh becomes all too clear
I hope all these feelings fly out and reach you.

By the way, we're all thinking of you
Because our wish for your warmth to be near has yet to come true
Because we're saying farewell for tomorrow's sake
And fly away to reach you in that far-off place.

I probably made a couple of bonehead errors, and there were a couple of lines that I genuinely didn't understand, so just made something up that made sense using the words in the sentence, but... that's why I'm not a fansubber! Tee hee!

And wouldn't it be funny if all those Japanese fansites were wrong and this song didn't actually play? ... Well, we'd all know who to blame for misleading us, then. ::tries to discreetly sneak away::

YES! When I talked about lines that I didn't have a friggin' clue about, I was specifically referring to that one. It literally translated as something like "You pushed the height of the confused me", and I was like "WTF does that mean?" The rest of the song was at least understandable, but I was completely befuddled by that line, so I made something up that made sense ^_^*.

And, actually, I translated the lyrics from a Japanese site that still had them in kana and such, so it was easier to pin meanings on phrases that had multiple translations. Good god, kanji is useful for something!

I still think this is a weird choice of song for the Kikyou-"death" episode. I mean, it's a song about saying goodbye to your friends when you're graduating, basically saying "We have to part now so we can go make the future better." But... Kikyou just gets impaled and thrown off the cliff. Granted, I guess that might make some people's futures brighter because we don't have to put up with her for a while, but still...

They should play "Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead", but maybe that's asking a little too much. ^_^*

LMAO laugh.gif "Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead!"
oh... that's so mean, she's one of my favorites.
I've allways liked her - we bitches sticks together wink.gif

"For Me mayotteta boku no se oshite kureta"

What does the kanji say on mayotteta?
Because mayou can mean "to get lost; to hesitate"
And it is often translated as "to hesitate",
"I Want to Change the Worl nido to mayowanai"
that became "I wanna change the world, never hesitate again"

In Sweden we have say something like this:
"att ge någon en knuff i ryggen"
"to give someone a push in the back"
It means that you help someone up again,
making it easier for them to deal with things.
so maybe "boku no se" should be translated:
"For Me you helped me when I got lost" or
"For Me you helped me when I hesitated" happy.gif

Not really much to say... I know a lot of other people are going to be more pleased than anything, but I'm still going to be sad when the time comes. (Even though I know she'll eventually be back.) Especially for poor Inuyasha.

They also have a link to Tsujitani Kouji's website, where he comments on the episodes as they're dubbed. Well, it's got links to just about all the seiyuus' websites, but his is the only one that seems regularly updated with Inu-related info. He says that the "Dried Youkai" episodes take place in modern times, so he doesn't get to do much Miroku-ing in them. I still have no idea what they're supposed to be about.

And judging by the one image we're given for episode 124, I'm gonna guess that we're gonna get a Kikyou montage to the "Sotsugyou" song. Flashbacky lamenting, "you should be sad she's dead because look at all the stuff she's done" sort of thing.

Whatever. Just as long as Naraku's back, I don't care ^_^.

That was my impression, too. (I mean, the starry purple background sorta gives it away...)

I just hope they don't go overboard. If she eventually really does die, it'll be a bit anticlimatic. Still, I suppose I've never minded too much in the past when they've layed the angst on a bit thick.

And I agree... it's good to have Naraku back. cool.gif

So lucky Inuyasha will get to experience her death not once, but twice. (And eventually it'll be three times, if she dies yet again before the series ends.) Oi... sometimes I'm amazed the poor guy hasn't yet gone insane. mellow.gif

Well, I just watched ep 123 raw, and damn. Even cooler than I thought it would be. Naraku is just too awesome for words (boy, does the man know how to make an entrance), and it looks like the fight between Inuyasha and Bankotsu that comes just a little before is going to blow a lot of people away as well. 119 and 120 have been pretty quiet... well, soon everyone is gonna know why. It's all been leading up to this. biggrin.gif

The only downside to watching first 120 and then 123 all in the same day is that I just saw what was left of the Shichinin-tai all go down one right after the other. I'm gonna miss them... well, Jakotsu and Bankotsu, anyway. Heck, even Inuyasha seemed a bit reluctant to see them go. Oh well... like Jakotsu said, it was fun while it lasted.

Yeah, I checked it out, too, simply for the sake of seeing Naraku actually DOING something for the first time in, like, a year. Well, he's still not actually fighting, but just sitting there going, "Ha ha, you can't hit me," but still... The dialogue was pretty easy to pick out for the most part (except I have no idea what Jaken said to Fluffy to warrant getting clobbered. I liked his face, though ^_^*).

Also, spoilerish, I guess: Bakuryuuha? I thought Inuyasha defeated Bankotsu by just chopping him in half the old-fashioned way. Either I'm remembering the manga wrong, they skipped over something in the recap, or they just flat made that not make sense.

And why are they still captioning people? We've just lost seven characters, soon to be eight next week, and only gained one, so I think we've got good enough memories to sort them all out now.

I just hope the FGF version doesn't have that long-ass earthquake report at the beginning. But, if it does.... oh well.

Yeah, you're right. Inuyasha never once uses the Bakuryuuha on Bankotsu in the manga, and he does defeat him by chopping him in half. But... you have to admit, the Bakuryuuha does look cooler. wink.gif

They extended the fight between Bankotsu and Renkotsu in 120, too. In the manga, as I recall, Bankotsu just yanked the shards out of Renkotsu's neck, gave him the "I never betrayed my comrades" speech, and that was that. I guess the anime directors want to make every little oppurtunity for action count.

And yes--what is with the captioning? It's not exactly hard to remember everyone's names by this point. It's really been getting distracting lately--I hope they don't plan to keep this up for too much longer. sleep.gif

i would've liked it better if bankotsu just sliced renkotsu in half with his banryuu biggrin.gif

Another Monday, another new episode. For next week's episosde, Yomiuri TV has presented us with this amazingly informative picture:

IPB Image

Um, yeah. Well, at least the next episode video blurb was a bit more informative, and indeed proves that we're still in manga storyline.

And, as we all know, Kikyou's now bitten the dust in a sort of not-dead sort of way. But she's gone for a while, regardless. I haven't actually caught episode 124 myself yet, but I've done my rounds of lurking on the Japanese message boards, and there seems to be a pretty consistant opinion of the end of that episode: It was really awkward. Apparently, the insert song didn't play as a special ending or during a Kikyou flashback montage or anything sensible like that... but rather when Inuyasha arrives on the scene and starts bantering with his brother. Ooo-kay. Like I said, I've only gotten this impression through hearsay, but it sounds like they might've botched this one.

In other news, apparently Tackey & Tsubasa are going to do the fifth opening, slated to start running in October.

Urk. Well, I'm downloading the 124 raw bittorrent now, so I guess I'll be able to see for myself before too long. Ugh, I hope it's decent. They've done too good a job with Kikyou during the past few episodes to screw it up now...

And I definitely wouldn't put it past them to play the song during a really weird moment after they decided on Itazurana Kiss as the sixth ending. sleep.gif Well, c'est la vie...
