Since the DVD versions don't have the notes provided at the beginning of each episode like with the TV releases, is it possible to provide them in text form here? I'm showing the DVD releases on my 52" HDTV to a few people (looks really good there... wink.gif ), but I'd like to provide some pamphlets to explain the Japanese language specific puns in the series.

If nothing else, I can go through each TV episode and type them up manually.

Thanks.

Would it be possible, if someone does put some notes together, to also include the notes from within the episode? I'm thinking of moments such as in episode three (8:04 in the tv version and 10:52 in the DVD version) where there is a play on words with "carrot" and "human." The notes helped me understand the joke, whereas the DVD version no longer has this note.

Zitch, or anyone else who partakes in typing something up, would you mind letting others know where to obtain a copy?

This is true. I just looked at the files and on the TV version, the subtitles say "A ni... ni... ninjin!", and it also has "ninjin=carrot ningen=human" on the top. On the DVD version, the subtitles simply say "A ca... ca... carrot!" and no further notes to explain it.

t2042: If I end up formatting the text in a PDF or something, I'll post a link here.

Zitch, if you end up doing it, I will host it here.

Zitch: If you get the time, thanks for anything you end up putting together.

Yeah we generally add the translation notes at the start of the ep, which worked better with the TV versions since there wasn't a good opening and there just wasn't any spot that wouldn't be obtrusive to stick the general credits in. I prefer to not be so blatant about them but if that splash screen is also for translation notes it was okay. Mostly just didn't want to put much into the dvd eps and figured something'd be worked out later.

That something I've always thought was just going to be a text file or pdf of all the eps... so yeah nothing fancy was ever planned and anyone with all the tv eps could do the same. Also gotta note there was some disconnect in the series in finding things out later like mazoku/demon... if we hadn't gotten behind we would've had demon in a few more eps and not had the warlock switch over. So yeah... in other words, at some point a file will be put together with all the notes, just goin at about the same pace as the dvd ep releases smile.gif
