take place during full moons

new moons wink.gif sry had to say that

and anyhow....I think AT LEAST a year has to have gone by. Where the series is at now I would THINK some time has passed...I guess Rumiko Takahashi never thought of telling us how much time has passed happy.gif
Kagome
I would think the year mark would be important...

Im just sticking by..that when the story ends it will be kagome's 16 b-day..that would be cute

Sorry, I just had to bring this topic back up from the dead.

Just an observation that probably doesn't really change what we all think, but for the first time, we actually DO have a small indication of timeframe.

It's been less than two years. XD

*SPOILERS FROM CHAPTER 343-345*

Shima's dad says that they met Miroku in the past. Two years ago. And that was a while before Miroku started travelling with everyone. So yep, been much less than two years. I guess we're still at less than a year. wink.gif
Kagome
I noticed that too, Kuro, when I read the chapter and I was telling Sango about it

Didnt a recent filler ep, very recent, say Kagome was still in middle school? ep 137 or something

Like I said wayyyyy back in November...the story should end on Kagome's b-day since it began on it.

Sorry, but we all should know better by now. Rumiko-san loves to play things out forever, and doesn't much constrain her storylines to mundane things like time and space.

Remember Ranma 1/2? Seven seasons, one OVA, two movies, *three* Christmas special episodes, and at least one reference to the "second anniverary" of episode one, where Ranma and his father first come to live at the Tendo dojo.

But at the end, all the characters are still in the same grade at high school, and Ranma is still 16 years old. blink.gif

Rumiko's stories are like quantum reality - where everything happens all at once, and time is an illusion. You'll make yourself crazy looking for a timeline that's probably not there.

I have this feeling that everytime they go to the beach,
they have summer vacations (could I be right about this?)
and the first time Akane mentions summer vacation,
is in book 5 I think... Bakuhatsu Tenketsu episodes... yea
Can anyone count how many summer vacations there were?

Oh... and remember that the anime ended at book 21,
and the manga ended on book 38 (they missed the greatness)
Honeybee
One thing I noticed at the beginning of chapter 344. Kagome mentioned that it was cold as Shippou and herself huddle near a fire. It's been consistently spring and summer in the manga since the third volume. But if it's starting to get cold at night, would that signify a seasonal change? Is Japan's climate that different from ours?

Well since i linked to this topic in another thread i decided to reread some of it...
and not all of Takahashi's stories are time lineless...
Masion Ikkoku is one that had a very sold and easy to follow timeline, by the end 7 years(at lest i think it was 7 by the very end) had past. where there were important dates that did come around every year, such as the day Soichiro(sp?) died...
But yes trying to follow the timeline in ranma is like trying to brethe in space... it just cant be done...

Guys.....I have to say at least 8-9 months have passed in all this time. If you think it takes a while to make each episode so that falls into play. Maybe the warring era has a differetn time period then Kagome's. Maybe if two days come by in Kagome's time then maybe 3-4 days in Inuyasha's time. Maybe maybe not. Although they have not mentioned it that may be true.

Well... the anime is just a re-telling of the story...
it's the manga that we should think of here. happy.gif
All those fillers... so many useless fillers... blah!
And then shorten it all down... then see what is left tongue.gif

hehe

I don't think it's like in Fushigi Yuugi,
because Sengoku Jidai is supposed to be the real world,
how it once was (tho XD I never thought of demons).
Even tho once when Kagome was laying in bed
(or something),it was day time...
...and you saw Inu thinking in Sengoku Jidai...
but suddenly it was night time O_o
