More info on it has come out!
Title: The Sword of the World Conquest or Dog NightPlot-
Two siblings who pull the blood of their great father are destroying the life circle and the dog night. They have two swords which came from their father: the Tessaiga/Tetsusaiga (Iron Breaking Fang), and the Tensaiga (Healing Fang). But there is another sword out there, "the tuft of grass cloud fang" (not sure if thats right). They fight to the death over this, the sword of 3 flat knots. Centering on the demon sword, the person that possess this sword will rain over all. The heroic fight which two of the same blood fight over has now started.

Wow that looks cool..you know what this means?!! Back plots on those two!!! YAY!!!~cough cough~ Fight to the death?!?!?! NOOO!!!!!!!!!! Not good!!!! That would definatly make Sesshoumaru-sama be the loser...stupid Inuyasha has to have the series named after him O.o...~relaxes~ its okay..Sesshoumaru-sama will always triumph! He has to!! Where would Rin or Jaken go? Wait, maybe this is where Jaken betrays them and kills them all and takes the new sword?! Thats it!...but Sesshoumaru-sama will have to survive somehow or another!!~cries~ he better!!!!!!!
Where did you find those pics? And where on earth do you find your avatars midnight?! I must know!!!

this sword will rain over all.
Wow, that's some... spelling.
"the life circle" is supposed to be Sesshoumaru and "the dog night" should be Inuyasha.
"the tuft of grass cloud fang?..."
This is Murakumoga, the Fang of Cloud Masses. [There might be a cooler name to give it, but this is more accurate than "grass cloud."]
"...shall rain over all...?" Don't they mean "reign" instead of the verb indicating precipitation?
Inuyasha: Tenka Hadou no Ken is the title (I'm not sure yet how to exactly translate 'hadou' but I'll ask my teacher).

destroying the life circle and dog nigh
*lol* I just had to answer to this! ^^
I once heard that the kanji in IY's
name meant "dog night gang".
NO, they do not. Not at all ppl. ^^
Inu = Dog.
This kanji is spelled with
the kanji for... yeah, dog!
Yasha = (female!) demon
Yasha is combined by two kanji,
thogether they actually means demon.
It has nothing to do with gang or night.
And "Destroying the life circle" hehe,
you might think it means that. ^^
Sesshou = Destruction of Life
I don't know about the kanji...
so lets move on quickly! ---
Maru - Circle/um... hard to explain
Maru does indeed mean circle,
and the kanji does too.
But "maru" in Sengoku Jidai
states that Sesshoumaru is a bachelor.
Young men often took the word "maru"
before settling down and getting married.
It has nothing to do with the word circle. ^^
There you go, ppl...

Awesome, awesome news. (A really nice thing to come back to after a week away from the forum!) The only downside is that we won't be able to see it over here for at least a year.

But last year when movie 2 came out, someone at another board saw it and typed up a nice spoiler review, so hopefully something like that will happen again. Because I
need to know what happens in this movie--it sounds too cool for words.
Oh, and Inuyasha is gonna kick Sesshoumaru's ass.

C'mon folks, you all know it has to happen.
I'm really desperate to see the trailer, but the link isn't working for me, not even when I go to the site directly. Which is frustrating, because I never had any problems with the first trailer. I want to see the rosary blow apart, dammit!

Okay, this is the best translation I can come up with:
Inuyasha: Tenka Hadou no Ken [The Sword that Rules over the Empire]
Tenka, according to Accela, can also mean (besides 'underneath heaven') the empire, and the leader of the country since he rules the empire. Great word.
Hadou can mean 'military rule', 'overlordship', and I decided that it sounds cooler just to say 'rule,' as in to reign over an empire.
Ken, the easy one, means sword.

Bakadeshi explained the use of maru. It was often used to name a favored .. I think she said son, or possession, or dog... etc. So Sesshoumaru's name practically flaunts that he's the "better son."

I don't think any of the movies
does anything to the whole series.
I'm pretty sure Takahashi writes the script,
but I still see them as side stories.
Maybe only certain parts remain,
like saying that the Goshinboku is a Time Tree.
Even though it may not be stated in the show...
it's still true. But it has no effect on the story.

You guys dont honestly believe either of these characters will die.
Especially in a movie, you really think they will just vanish from the anime and die in a movie. I seriously doubt that.
Iy has the name of the show so unless its the last episode of the entire series dont count on him dying.
And as for Sesshoumaru I dont think she has the guts to kill him off.
As we have seen many times on this forum, Sesshoumaru is liked more than any other character on the show.
I would estimate at least 35pct of the people who watch the show would stop watching it all together if Sesshoumaru was no longer on it. The others actually care what happens with IY and kagome and naraku.
I for one wouldnt see the point of watching another episode if he wasnt in it, trust me they dont have the sack to kill Sesshoumaru off.

Er, um, yeah. Third movie. Been getting news of this one off of various Japanese sites all week, and there still isn't all that much terribly useful information regarding it. So, basically a summary of stuff from the official site and the World Hobby Fair report:
The central point of the story is apparently Inuyasha's relationship with Sesshoumaru. Given this, we're likely to see a lot of backstory on the two (as is noted by the trailer image of Inuyasha's mother in the burning house). There's also mention of a third fang-sword left by their father, the Sou'unga (I know it looks like it's supposed to be Murakumoga, but the furigana reads "Sou'unga", so...), and whoever controls this sword has reign over the empire (or even the world, possibly, but in Feudal Japan, the two were pretty much considered the same thing ^_^*). The World Hobby Fair report also rumored that Inuyasha's father would finally get a name in this movie (besides "Inu no Taisho").
Again, there's still waaay too little information to draw any real conclusions from this. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are obviously fighting each other in this movie, but whether it's because of this third sword or some other reason, I don't know (since neither really seems like the type who'd want to rule an empire). Granted, given where the storyline is right now, there is NO reason for the brothers to be fighting, PERIOD. The only way I can see this happening is if it's revealed that Sesshoumaru was personally responsible for Inuyasha's mother's death (which is not entirely out of the question). But, in all honesty, I'd rather see the two working together for once instead of beating each other to a pulp.

Did you save the link on your desktop, or did you just open the link from where it was. If you try to open the link from its current location, it'll result in a blank screen. If you right click the link, select "Save Target As",and save it, it becomes an *.asx file. That will allow windows media player to open the file.

finally worked! See, I'd tried that initially, and for some reason it didn't work the first time (probably my computer), so I figured I was doing something wrong and didn't try it again. Worked this time, though--now I feel pretty stupid, but at least I've gotten to see the trailer! More than makes up for that.

Very cool, although I was hoping for more new shots. I agree that the black dog pictured could be the boys' father, Inu no Taisho in the flesh. And though the woman running in the burning building kind of looks like Kagome (though you can't make out her face at all clearly--in the trailer it's too blurry, and in the screenshot posted in this thread, it's too small), her hair is too long, so my bet would be Inuyasha's mother as well. Looks to me like she may be holding a very small someone in her arms, at that... I can't see him clearly, but it looks a lot like a little Inuyasha, and he may even be in human form, though his hair may just look darker because of the shadows.
Also, the building on fire seems to be a palace or otherwise big, imporant house, and we know Inuyasha spent at least part of his childhood with his mother in a place like that. Hmm...

Um... I didn't think there was any doubt that the person in the burning house was Inuyasha's mother ^_^*. Especially since the narration over that scene says, "This child's name... is Inuyasha." It sure as heck looks like the same person from episode 5. She's wearing the fire-rat cloak, which was probably given to her by Inuyasha's father (and thus passed along to Inuyasha himself). And my guess is that the dog in the trailer is Inuyasha's father, not Sesshoumaru. If it IS Sesshoumaru, there's still no reason he can't have all his appendages, given that a lot of this movie is going to be backstory, and the guy wasn't ALWAYS an amputee.

Hm... "Kono kodomo nara, Inuyasha!" is that what she said?
It sound more as if she's speaking to him, not about him. ^^
"If that is the child, Inuyasha!" or something like that. Not sure.

I distinctly hear "
Kono ko no na wa... Inuyasha", or "This child's name is... Inuyasha."
To me, the entire trailer audio is this: "
Tetsusaiga, Tenseiga, soshite... chichi ga no hosshita daisan no ken. Sono ken wo seisurumono ga tenka wo seisuru. Idainaru chichi no chi wo hiku futari no kyoudai. Sono sakerareru shukumei to wa... ("Kono ko no na wa... Inuyasha")... ("Yurusanee!")... Eiga Inuyasha: Tenkahadou no Ken."
Which would in turn mean something like:
"Tetsusaiga. Tenseiga. And then... there was the father's desired third sword. Whomever controls this sword shall control the empire. The great father's blood was passed to two brothers. It is their unavoidable destiny... ("This child's name is... Inuyasha")... ("I won't forgive you!")... Inuyasha Movie: Sword to Rule an Empire."
The guy talked kinda fast, so it was hard to catch that first sentence. "ga no" seems like a weird ordering of particles, so maybe I heard that wrong. But, um, yeah. Here's another interpretation to throw into the mix.

Um... I didn't think there was any doubt that the person in the burning house was Inuyasha's mother

*.
Well, aurora_skys and orangekid both said they thought it was Kagome initially, so I was just giving my own reasoning why I thought it was Inuyasha's mom.
::shrug::Anyway, that's an interesting quote,
"This child's name is... Inuyasha." In the trailer, it's a woman's voice saying that, probably Inuyasha's mom again since they show her in that scene. I wonder where exactly that line is in the movie...
About the third sword (Murakumoga, was it called?)... a weird thought just occurred to me. Since Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru's father was the Demon Lord of the Western Lands, maybe whichever brother claims the third fang will inherit that title? (I forget whether Sesshoumaru has already officially claimed that title or not.) That would be very much akin to "ruling the empire", after all. Just a bit of speculation... it's a lot of fun to try and guess what will happen in this movie.

I don't recall saying anything about suffering.
LOL, well that quote is one of my faves, so I couldn't resist.

ok! previous statement retracted! after rewatching the preview and looking carefully at the tiny picture at the beginning of this thread, i have come to the conclusion that that is in fact inu yasha's mother! (yay for me...) which means plenty of background and flashbacks!!
wasnt inu yashas father white also? in one of the early episodes, i think they show a painting of him in which he is all white and wavy/fluffy haired.

Yeah, I think Inuyasha's father and Sesshoumaru are both white dogs... which means that it's only the shadows which are making the dog in the trailer look black (which I kinda doubt, because the mane is still white), or that something really strange is going on in the flashback, which definitely isn't out of the question.
Or it could even be a third inu youkai, I suppose, which would be
really cool.
