Sudddenly, in 110, both Kagome and Sango are less, um, well endowed. First, the nipples from the manga disappear, and in some of the American episodes, monster's breasts vanish entirely, and now the young ladies are far more schoolgirl like. I feel we're heading toward finding them attired as nuns. And we've not had nearly enough bare chested Inuysahsa lately...

I didn't notice any difference. :?
Of course, I was watching the battles and not the girls.

Well I think Viz / Cartoon Network are to blame for the nipple and monster breast edits you mentioned. They edited them out for the American releases only. I didn't notice anything special about the girls' breasts in 110...but I wasn't paying much attention to them

I haven't seen any change that would warrent a ALARM! Plus I don't make a point to notice thier breasts.
Although if I had to pick one of these ladies it would be......Sango, yeah Sango, she can protect me!

All the character designs fluctuate on occasion. The main characters are usually pretty stable (although Kagome looks a little weird at certain places in 111), but the minor characters--all bets are off there. Poor Sesshoumaru, it seems like the animators forget how to draw his face on a weekly basis. I know somebody who once made an image gallery entirely out of screencaps illustrating how his ears keep getting munged differently.

Can anyone comment on how closely the current story(Shichinintai) is following the manga? I would guess that if the scene doesn't appear in the manga or if the story is different, the character appearance would fluctuate more. Although, I've never heard much about how a show Inuyasha is animated(i.e. Does Takahashi help produce each episode or guide the artwork, or is the show entirely seperate?, etc...)

It's following the manga pretty closely.

Heh...yeah, I know. I call it the "the series is named after me" effect. Inuyasha shouldn't have been able to kick Sesshou's ass more than once. Blargh.
As for the manga/anime connection, yes, the anime does in general follow the manga story and layout exactly. The "fight" scene between Inu and Kagome in ep 109, for example, was nearly panel by panel identical. However, the anime chara designs are always a little different: the characters have smaller eyes and more human noses, IMHO. It's more of an internal consistency thing than anything else--check out poor Sesshou in 111 to see a bit of what I'm talking about. His face gets drawn sort of oddly at a few places in there.
Also, there are times where the anime deviates from the manga camera work just to annoy me. I really really wanted to see this one panel from #26 animated in 111 (it's from the part where Rin runs off).
Feh!

Hmm...actually (and I may not be remembering all 109 episodes I've seen so far correctly--it's a lot to remember), the times that Inuyasha actually "beat" Sesshoumaru-sama seemed to be due to a combination of destiny/luck/the will of their late great father, a splash of determination/grit, and of course, the presence/protection of Kagome. At least that's my interpretation.
But, as many times as I've heard about the whole "Inuyasha always beats his brother" thing, I've wondered if people were remembering the
other times they fought...like when Inu-chan's gang grabbed him away from a potentially deadly fight when he transformed (of course, Sesshoumaru-sama
did muse about being frightened for a moment  )...or when Fluffy-chan (oops! forgive me Sesshoumaru-sama--*SLASH*--ite-te-te-te-te!) chose NOT to kill Inuyasha when he surely could have, not even really doing anything but blocking his attacks, when Inuyasha was fully transformed...etc. Not to mention all the times that he just ignored a potential fight with Inuyasha, when he wasn't "testing" him or trying to get that doggone Tetsusaiga.
Sorry, just some stuff I'd had in the back of my mind for a while to wonder about...

Well there definetlly are a lot of bugs in the whole way that thing goes you are absolutelly right... Sesshomaru could have killed IY 3 times as far as i can recall... and i was as well irritated by the fact that the fight stoped in such a stupid way...
But i believe that at that time when Sesshomaru first saw IY transformed and freaked out was WICKED... "I sesshomaru was frightened" :PPPP

Un, and when Inuyasha hid behind Miroku,
that was so funny, I almost laughed to death.
Did anyone else notice that Inuyasha's rosary
also reacted when Kagome shouted "Baka!" ?
It's supposed to be only "Osuwari", right...?
Inu-Pancake
Jun 1 2003, 06:05 AM
yeah! i noticed that....maybe kagome has more magical powers than we know of? or maybe it was symbolic for Inu Yasha getting slammed into the ground because of kagome's harsh words?
Patrioil
Jun 1 2003, 06:09 AM
The light from the rosary when she said baka seemed real.
But maybe the rosary didn't really catch up with her words?
Mostly when she calls him baka he gets mad,
or a little taken aback, but he never smashes into the ground.

will someone explain to me what "baka" means?
Ozymen
Jun 1 2003, 10:36 AM
Baka means stupid/fool/idiot or something like that... this comes from the subs really, its no personal knowledge (but hey... since all anime we watch give this translation)... but i guess that is not something you dont know... are you looking for another meaning? wait for someone else to answer as well then

And don't forget episode 96 (the "Jaken is Illin'" episode ^_~). Not only does Sesshoumaru spend most of the episode phasing from place to place, he jumps
through Kaze no Kizu and could have easily killed Inuyasha (read: he had his sword to his throat).
Wai! Sesshoumaru-sama!
