Wow, in a chapter chock full of very cute things and awesome things...I'd like to comment on a small drawing that caught my attention and I thought might be overlooked:
After Kagome has helped 'hold up' Inuyasha you can see this little picture of how tired exhausted she is. She's doing a lot of work here (keeping the shard pure or whatever, not holding Inuyasha up

). Anyway, I thought it was a very nice touch in a very nice chapter.
And fluff!!!!!! God how I love fluff!!!!!!!. Thank you very, very, much Kuro. Very, very, much.
(Anyone else find it funny how the second movie got it right and they didn't even know it.

).

Okay, so how did Naraku know Inuyasha was using the shard? He knew everything that was going on in there...that was weird...
And why's Inuyasha's youkai blood evil? I thought that just because a youkai is a youkai doesn't mean he's automatically evil... *ponder ponder*
If you look in the image of Inuyasha on page 3, there's a saimyoushou hovering right above him. Naraku can keep an eye on things with those bugs. How 'bout that. o_O They're houshi-repellant, and spy-cams all at once.
I'm not sure that he's saying
Inuyasha's blood itself is evil. Just like how human blood isn't frail. Naraku just used contemptive adjectives. He's saying the blood of youkai is evil, and the blood of human is weak, basically.
Just for the reference, the line is
kayowaki ningen to yokojima na youkai no chi o motsu... Kayowaki means "frail" and
yokojima na means something like "wicked" or "evil."

Ha. Just when you think it's over, another twist, ne?

And I dont think the shard became corrupted because of Inuyasha's blood. They became so due to the fact that there were in such close contact with the oni who they were camped out in...one is evil, and the other is not, and the purity was easily pushed aside when Kagome released it from her hold: just like with Kouga's shards versus the shards of anyome else who seems to get them and try to use them for untoward purposes. My boy Inuyasha isn't capable of corrupting something like that, cuz he's just too sweet.

One word - awesome!
A few more words.
Wow, a "youkai" Inuyasha is something that we haven't seen for a while. And the Inuyasha/Kagome moment was simply wonderful *squeels with scary fangirlish glee*. We also have a big cliffhanger in preparation for next week's chapter. I'm not saying anything definate here but it looks like the endgame could be in sight. (I think it'll take at least two or three more volumes to wrap everything up, though.)
On a side note: Did anyone else notice that although Inuyasha's eyes went back to normal when Kagome hugged him his face stripes didn't disappear? I wonder what this could mean...maybe it's because his youkai blood is still a little stronger than normal due to the shikon fragments in Tessaiga.

I get the feeling that Kikyou is going to smite the baby but it won't be the end just yet...Naraku's heart has been moved by now, I'm sure. Hell, if he can play people by luring them to use a shard he knows will somehow become corrupted and almost cause a problem, surely he has the foresight to jump ship from that particular vessel.

And I don't think that Takahashi would make such a drastic change to Inuyasha this late in the game...it probably is just because that shard is still in Tessaiga, and I'm assuming Kagome is still holding onto him in the panel where wouldn't couldn't see if she was. I bet the next chapter we see he'll be back to normal as always.
Kuro
Apr 1 2004, 04:07 PM
If doesn't return back to "normal" next chapter, I'm hoping there's going to be a little more of an explaination or storyline surrounding it. I was expecting an upgrade for Tessaiga, but not an upgrade for Inuyasha himself. (Heehee.) I'm wondering if that full-youkai strength thing in him was only temporary.
Either way, I think -- well, HOPE -- that this will again serve to get more moments out of Inuyasha and Kagome.

Kagome looked a little spent in that frame, holding onto Inuyasha after he blew the belly open.
Maybe Kikyou will use the baby to get to Naraku.
On the side note if Kikyou picked up the baby do you think he could easily possess her like he did to Kagome?
Moonbeamdanser
Apr 1 2004, 07:15 PM
The baby is different now than he was before, right? If so, I dunno if that would be possible anymore.
And yes, Kagome looked totally wiped out. That poor girl needs a vacation.

Hehe, again, like someone else said, when Kagome first hugged him it was just TOO much like that second movie scene, and now, I 'spous in the next chapter she'll have to kiss him too! XD

^_^* One thing about the blogs that you have to watch out for is that you have to be able to tell the difference between the review and fan-babble. What you just translated falls into the latter category. Sesshoumaru didn't appear in this chapter, but Howa-san sure likes to toss him in to do her reviews. ^_^*
However, there's a reason he was mentioned, because a lot of things point towards a Sesshoumaru/Kagura showdown in the near future. Apparently Naraku instructed Kagura to protect Goryoumaru. Now, since Sesshoumaru is currently the only "good guy" who's even aware that Goryoumaru's still a threat, who do you think's going to come after him? ^_^* For once Sesshoumaru's in the know! What's going on here?! :P
Lessie... apparently Mouryoumaru is back in this chapter, laying the smackdown on Kikyou, I think. Inu's troupe, on the other hand, wandered on back to Kaede's village to take care of Miroku. And there's apparently a little more Inu/Kago fluff ("I want you near me" or something).
Well, that's all I was able to get out of the weekly blog-view. Maybe the Japanese Fluffy fangirls are right and he'll be pulling some moves in the next couple of weeks, or... maybe not.

Hmm.. So Goryoumaru and Mouryoumaru
are two seperate beings? I was never completely sure what to think about that, but it does make a nice red-herring.
Ooh!

And that's just like Naraku to put Kagura up against the one she cares about most. Now why didn't I see that coming? Naraku's not going to kill her; Kagura will likely not put up much of a fight against Sesshoumaru and forfeit it herself. The question is: will Sess take the bait, or will he see through it and spare her just to spite Naraku's plans like he did with Kohaku?
And, ::whew!:: I was hoping Takahashi wouldn't completely leave Inuyasha's group hanging in limbo. That's a relief!
(Inu/Kag fluffiness! Yay!) Thanks Patches!

Thats what I have been saying forever! I mean, you think Naraku is going to let Kagura off easy with just squishing her heart and fin? nuu, Naraku does'nt like Kagura, Kagura is a traiter and Naraku wants to make sure she suffers alot. He does'nt go on the easy way, for instance, the Kikyou-Inuyasha betrayel, Naraku could have just taken the jewel from Kikyou, but instead he wanted them both to die/live hating eachother. Just like Naraku.

Latest chapter up on ear-tweak. Lot's of fluff, which I wholely approve of. Great job Kuro. Anyway, cutest moment: They were snuggling in a tree!!!! It's like Inuyasha's fortress of solitude or something and he brought Kagome up there to snuggle.
Gah, the cuteness!!! Soooooo sweet. (Fangirl moment extraordinare.)

Whoo, now that this forum is back up, I can return to blogging!
This week's chapter is "Memory of Father". And while I got all giddy that this might refer to Kago-papa or Inu-papa, nooo, it refers to Kohaku-papa (I think).
Yay for more Sango/Kohaku angst. ^_^*

May 12 2004, 10:11 AM
Well, considering what happened in the chapter two weeks ago, I'd be absolutely amazed if the title
didn't refer to Kohaku's father.

But anyway, that makes me very happy... it sounds like maybe Takahashi really is going to redeem Kohaku by playing this latest storyline out. I can't wait to read it.

And once again, the manga and the anime display some impeccable timing with each other... once again both are focusing on the same character. Does this sort of thing seem like it's always happening to anyone else? I think it's really odd... sometimes I wonder if they're doing it on purpose.

*after reading t3h Spexxie's comments on 360*
SPexx0r, you know, sometimes I'm convinced that we're like... twinx0rs or something. XD
Dude... I haven't felt this "bad" reading an Inu chapter in a while. I was all "O_O" when the doushi beheaded Goryou. And then I was like, "Gueh?" when Kagura got all angsty about her last job and all through the chat in 351.
Inuyasha is so darn angsty. It's all about the angst. AAAAAAANGST!
XD
Anyhow... yeshyesh... I want to hug Kohaku-kun! And tell him, "It's okay, Freckles, we luv ya!" Hee.
You know, all the angstiness of this chapter makes me think, "Ah, so maybe THIS is why Takahashi got so darn weird in that medicine man story arc. She just needed to give us a real, like, BREATHER before she started getting all angsty again. Otherwise, following all that Inuyasha pwnage and previous angst, we'd be suffocating. Heh-heh-heh.
