Full Version: Movie Review: Movie 3

Potential SPOILERS: You have been warned.

After waiting 3 days for the new avi format to download, I set back, relaxed, and grabbed a bowl of popcorn. I had seen "Love That Transends Time" (Movie 1) and "Castle Beyond The Looking Glass" (Movie 2) and was quite pleased with them. But to be given a movie staring Fluffy (Sesshamaru) of all people, now that was exciting.

Of course the movie started with the typical flashback of past events that made the storyline what it is. Very well scripted too. And none of that "Once apon a time..." crap. This one actually shows Inuyasha's mom and dad! Very cool. Then its off to the present to start the story.

SPOILER?: "Sword of World Conquest" is the story about what happened to Inuyasha and Sesshamaru's parents and how they now have to team up to defeat the man that killed them. Along came a ancient-demon posessed sword called Sou'ung that wants to kill Inuyasha and you have yourself one hell of a story. Twist: Sou'ung is daddy's sword.

The overall story is beautifully done, espicially when it comes to the characters being drawn and the story following the Anime show. Not too sure about the Manga though. Rin and Jaken are important in this story, as well as Kagome's family. No Kikyou, Naraku, Kohaku, or Kouga though. This is a one-on-one, Inu vs Sess fight movie. To the end? Maybe.

End Spoiler: The movie takes you through the end of the conflict with Sesshamaru delivering the final blow to reinforce Bakaharu's attack. This is a total surprise being that Sess hates humans and could careless about them. But why help Inuyasha? The world may never know.

Overall, this is another fine masterpiece coming out of Japan. It has action, drama, Fluffy, and a lot of fighting. This is a definate hit and will do well in the U.S. when ever it crosses the Pacific. Now that the Inuyasha series is ending on TV, the series will definately continue through the yearly movies. I look forward to the next release, Inuyasha Movie 4, In December of 2004. I hope the manga continues to go strong so future patrons will follow Inuyasha and maybe the show will relaunch. Maybe.

Mods, I didn't see anywhere for me to seriously post my review, so move where it needs to go if this is not correct.

I'm jms011 and I approve this movie! ***** stars.
That's my opinion and you're welcome to yours.

I like the 3rd movie, as well as 1 and 2, and Im looking forward to the 4th...

It wasn't the best movie I'd ever seen, but learning a little about Izayoi and Inu-Papa was cool.

But, wow, did I feel like I was reading an advertisment or something.
