Kouga was brought up when Kagome, Sango, and Miroku were discussing the final 4 shards that are not a part of the Shikon no Tama.

Here's who has what:
2- Kouga
1- Kohaku
1- Missing (at time)
The rest- Naraku.

The last episode Kouga was in was 124 when Mt. Hakuraizen collapesed and Kikyou was killed by Naraku. Kagome doesn't know where Kouga is. She generally does.
