Okay... well, first of all, excuse me while I go individually hunt down each and every member of the anime staff who thought it would be a good idea to turn Miroku into a super-perv after episode 132. I knew this was going to happen...

All right, then... well, if by any chance you think Miroku is the stupidest idiot on God's green and blue earth because of his retarded behavior after he and Sango got "engaged" in episode 132, you should know that it's almost 100% anime-invented, meaning that he doesn't do any of it in the manga. In the original version, for all intents and purposes he stays loyal to Sango after his proposal, and he doesn't go off with all these other people (who I agree are losers ). There was a recent bunch of chapters in the manga where it looked as if their relationship might be straining apart, but it all worked out in the end.

And if you're talking about Miroku before he officially asked Sango to bear his child... well, I'm too lazy to type an entire essay on this topic yet again, but here's a link to one of the discussions we've had here:

Basically, I think Miroku's lechery was mostly an act to keep people (in particular, Sango) at a distance from him, since he had the kazaana and all. I couldn't blame the guy if he didn't want anyone to get attached to him, and vice versa. Although even I have to admit that you can't fake pervertedness to the extent that he does--he's definitely a horny little monk. XD I just think a lot of the groping and cheating stems from issues about having people close to him. (Obviously, this is all mainly speculation and opinion on my part, but I think it makes sense.)

So, that said... I adore Miroku and Sango. Even more than Inuyasha and Kagome. I think Miroku and Sango not only care about each other, but need each other, and... well, I dunno, they're just so right for each other. Normally I don't care for a couple when it seems like they've been put together for the sake of putting them together (which is definitely the case here), but in this case it just seemed to work really well.

I am a christain and I believe that if a woman loves you, you should try to be as kind to her or love her back. Not go off and grope other women, expecially whe nhe has Sango(who can fight and is hot). SO if I were to choose I would choose having Miroku not be there at all or being a youkai of some sort.

He may not act wisely in concern to his lovely (but scary) woman, but he's not an idiot. I don't think idiots can undergo life long spiritual training. And be good at what they do. In fact, I know they can't. Miroku has displayed intelligence, wisdom, courage and compassion repeatedly... even to Sango.






I'm not seeing how religion plays into it, but to me, Miroku's groping is an extension into our lives. If a boyfriend notices another attractive girl (as many guys, like my own) do, and the girlfriend gets jealous. It happens a lot. It doesn't mean the boyfriend actually wants another one of these girls, he just... is male-ish and notices what he notices best. It also says something about the girl, Sango (and myself to an extent, I suppose) is insecure and is afraid of being hurt, not trusting in the end that he'll come back.

BUT in the real world I would never stand for groping. But since its anime, and not real, it is exaggrated.

I think you guys that are thinking that Miroku is an idiot or not worthy of being in the show are forgeting something. His Kazaana, having something like that would make any person act weird. I love and honnor Miroku, cause even with that, he still manages to act normally and be happy in his life most of the time.

As for the gropping; I think he just likes to see Sango's reaction. After all Sango has not said that she loves him, hell she still calls him Houshi-Sama. But when he does those things, and she reacts that way, he can see that she does love him. XD

All in all Miroku might not be my all time fav. But I would totally hate it if something where to happen to him.

And you mistake my term of an idiot. I call him an idiot because they are unwise decisions. If I had the Kazaana, I would stay with Sango because she would have been the first to have excepted me. I would get as close to her as possible, rather then getting farther away by going to other women and asking the same question everytime.

To me if you love someone you do not love any other. Scenario; You love her, she likes you(or vice versa). You get as close as possible to her but she steps away by going to other men and asking "can I bear your child."(or vice versa) Would you not be angry and try to stop it; It is just putting yourself in the others shoes. So if I were Miroku I would understand that Sango did not like me doing it so I would learn to stay with her and not otherwise.

Love is a sacred thing to me. You dont just go around breaking that bond or that string. I understand that his Kazaana makes him need to get a child faster. Since Sango already likes him it wouldnt take a long time to get another woman to like him enough to have a child with him I am almost sure you have seen episode 132. She accepted his offer YET he does NOT stop. So if it IS because of the Kazaana then why does he continue even though Sango ACCEPTED. She said that they could have how many ever or whatever, so he does not need to look anymore, right?. Explain that please, for I am missing something.

And Miroku chooses to do just the opposite. And I think he does it because Sango is the first to have accepted him. He cares about her greatly; no one here is denying that, right? We've seen him show that he does multiple times. So since he cares about her so much, he doesn't want her to go through any more pain. Sango has lost everything she ever had, and everyone she ever knew. Her family and village were slaughtered because of Naraku. Kohaku was killed, and then revived and also taken by Naraku. I'm sure the last thing Miroku wants is for her to get attached to him, only to lose him too. And there is a very good chance that's exactly what will happen. So he tries to push her away and weaken their bond on purpose by flirting with every other kimono that passes by. No one is saying it's the right thing to do, but before you accuse the character, you ought to at least take a deeper look at his actions. And also consider the fact that he eventually does learn from his mistakes and he stops. (But more on that below.)


He does love her, and only her. It's obvious that there's no real meaning behind any of his other "will you bear my child" questions. I'm positive that even if someone answered yes (amd actually, it has happened), he wouldn't actually go through with it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he has no plans whatsoever for having children unless he can remove the curse. It may be his "mission" to pass on the family duty, but I don't know if he would actually want to. It's certainly why he never asked Sango until episode 132.


Since you asked for an explanation, I'll say it one last time:

The anime writers are retarded.

Seriously. Like I said, it does NOT happen in the manga. He does stop, and he hasn't popped the question to anyone else since. He's serious about it. So when you see him flirt around in the anime... just ignore it. That's what I do.

Also, like I said before; he really isn't out to get anyone to bear his child. Especially not after his proposal to Sango, since he stops asking other people after that. The only way he'll be having children now is if the curse is removed, and it will be with Sango, and not anyone else.

Like the others have said before, if you are going purely by the anime, then I can see your problem. But he doesn't act like that in the manga after he accepted to be with Sango. That only happens thanks to some really bad choices on the part of the animators for the show. I'm sure that the writer of the manga ( Sorry I forgot her name) is looking at that and cursing at them for messing with her characters that way. XD

And yes I have seen that epi. I have seen all the eps. that are out so far.

Anyway, Karieno, all three movies use the "reset effect" at the end to ensure that everything ends up exactly the way it was at the beginning, so mostly the movies have zero effect on the anime. However, one of the characters from movie 2, Houjou Akitoki (potato chip extraordinaire XD), makes an appearance in the anime from eps 137 through 140. So I guess technically that makes the movie canon. They're never referred to aside from that one time, though.

I will say, though, that even though they have dead-end plots, they're worth watching if you can find/get them. Aside from the fact that the character animation is a bit odd (everyone has huge eyes and foreheads, and narrow pointy chins), and the fact that the movies tend to fall back on the stereotypical characterizations of the cast (e.g. we get even more dumb flirting from Miroku than usual, and Inuyasha and Kagome are always arguing/osuwariing/etc.), the movies are pretty good. In particular, the fight scenes are leaps and bounds above the ones in the series. The opening of movie 2 alone is worth the trouble of downloading or buying it.

but what has been happening recently between the two? it seems like the last big thing was the engagment which was cool and i really liked it, but it doesnt seem like the anime has any focus on sango and miroku right now. it feels like the spectrum has switched over to sess and inuyasha and how their relationship is going to grow (as brothers) i dont know i havent read the manga (mainly becuase i dont know how to get it cheap) but i feel like the brothers will have to be working together to get the jewel and defintly to kill naraku (* even though he really isnt a big part of the anime right now)

As far as teh Sango/Miro relationship... Gah! I love those two to pieces! But while I tend to kind of think the anime filler writers take his notorious flirtations overboard, I kinda have to think that they're still in this sort of "let's wait and see" kind of mode.

Well first for your question Pengin. i think Miroku wont be flirting with any girls that much anymore. I think that they would have a child and so whatever, not now, but would happen sometime. I think Sango would learn to forget about her families death..well not forget but more like start to get used to it. She would be close to Miroku enough so that it wouldnt matter much then.


Now for YOU Kuro. I think that the Animaotrs can shuv this crappy not flirty Miroku-Sango crap up there ***. They should come down to reality...I dont think really anyone would be flirting after getting proposed and not having his Kazaana anymore(wont happen till the end or something close). I think that they should just stick with the Manga and stop drifting off.

To be fair, Miroku's flirtatiousness with other women is his old bad habit. He admits it all the time. And a few months ago, there was a manga chapter that really put him on the line for it. He was honestly trying just to be a good guy and help out an old friend, but given his track record with women, it looked suspicious.

He just seriously had to sit down with Sango and actually tell her, "I'm sorry for this, and I know it's wrong." Unspoken implication is: "I'm going to stop."

*shrugs* So yes, he LOVES Sango more than any other girl he's met, I agree. He's trying to change for her. But even he slips up now and then. But it's like any other relationship. They get over the rough spots and in the end, it turns out stronger than before.

And I did say I thought the anime tends to take his habit overboard. They kind of play off of old founded jokes and personalities.
