Great news; I wasn't sure if they'd get to her before the special. Hopefully we'll get to Hijiri-sama in 149... ::fingers crossed::

And once that little mini-arc is done, we'll finally get to the part of the manga I've probably been anticipating the most. Ah, Kohaku-kun... we haven't seen him for too long. I can't wait. Of course, I'm looking forward to pretty much everything canon that's coming up, so in the meantime I'll have plenty to keep me occupied.

[EDIT: Although according to IIFJ, the anime is taking a break for a few weeks in March... rats. Guess the wait will be a little longer than I thought...]

In the meantime, I just watched 144, and since there's no merit in making a new topic for it, I'll just tack my opinion on this one. :P

For this episode, note to the anime writers: Don't try to make a whole episode out of one chapter. It ends up dragging. A lot.

Granted, there were some amusing Sesshoumaru/Jaken scenes that were added:

Jaken: "Where are we going, Sesshoumaru-sama?"
Sesshoumaru: "Don't ask me that."
Jaken: "Then... who should I ask? Ah-Un? No... and Rin's no help..."

However, Inuyasha was acting a little on the boneheaded side today. The writers seemed to think, "Wait, this episode is too dull! We need an explosion! I know, let's have Inuyasha BLOW UP A ROCK!" And then proceeded to rain down rock on everyone else. Sigh...

At least Hakudoushi was more or less okay today. That smug grin when he was pointing his spear at Inuyasha was cool. But, again, the weirdo anime writers step in and say, "Let's have Hakudoushi telepathically pelt Kagura with rocks! What fun!"

And, is it just me, or is Naraku stalking Sesshoumaru at the end? It looked like he was lying in wait, waiting to pop out and give Fluffy a wedgie or something. Kukukuku...

I like to have you tied up XD but ok.

Well, just watched 146, the introduction of Abi-hime.

You know, I had no idea this was an Ikeda episode. She usually does the art direction of episodes ending in 3 or 8, so I wasn't expecting her back until 148. But, it's not like I'm complaining. ^_^

But, even though this was Abi's episode, Hakudoushi stole the episode with his one appearance:

God, he's adorable in that scene. You'd never know he enjoys traipsing about the sengoku jidai and slicing demons' heads off when he's awake...

Just starting downloading the episode myself, but I can't wait to see it. How did Abi-hime turn out?

Pretty good. But, this is an Ikeda episode, so everyone looks good. We'll just have to hope the other art directors can do her justice in later episodes.

She's also as "wild-tempered" as the episode title implies. She screams half her lines, and goes completely postal on Inuyasha when he kills her birds (which make noises like evil seagulls ^_^*).

Couple things bothered me about this episode: Naraku actually did some fighting himself. You didn't actually SEE it, but he just whipped out a spiney thing, you hear a bunch of "AGH"s, and then there's a bunch of dead youkai. Naraku's not supposed to get his own hands dirty! Boo!

And... there was more houshi-age. Miroku offers to save the village in return for housing, food, and women. Everyone gives him a dirty look. He then says he was just joking, and he'll save the village in return for women only. He gets Hiraikotsu-ed. He then says he was just joking again. Granted, the scene did play out pretty funny, and Kouji was just spot-on deadpan, but still...

Oh, and a stampede of Myougas is something I never wish to see again. "Gamyon gamyon gamyon gamyon!"

D00d... a stampede of Myougas sounds hilarious. XD

Abi sounds great. My BT is about 30% complete, so I'll be able to see for myself soon enough.


Nyargh. I think he's actually done more womanizing in the anime since he's proposed. I guess the writers can't think of anything else to do to add comic relief at the moment.

All that Hiraikotsu-age must be killing the poor houshi's brain cells. Which in turn leads to more stupidity on his part. Which leads to yet more Hiraikotsu-ing. It's a vicious cycle.

Mine is still downloading, so I haven't seen it...but I can't really blame them for this, since in a way it's actually in the manga. Course it sounds worse with all the other womanizing stuff he's been doing lately. Though for me the real test will be if the screw up some of the upcoming Miroku/Sango stuff.

Heh... ::sweatdrop:: I actually went back to reread the two manga chapters this episode is based on, and... I was just going to say the same thing. It is in the manga. Great, now people can start accusing me of having a selective memory when it comes to Miroku. XD

Although it's not played up as much in the manga. He says the one line about food, beds, and women, and then gets Hiraikotsu-ed. Naturally, the anime tried to get as much as they could out of the line. Oh well... ::shrug:: This one never really bothered me much anyway, since it's really just him joking around.

Well, anyway... my review of the episode, done by talking randomly about things:

1) I keep forgetting just how cool the villains are this season. First Hakudoushi shows up in episode 142 and practically demands to have the show renamed after him since then; then Naraku makes a reappearance here and I remember just how damn hot he is (man, Patches is 100% right about these Ikeda episodes); then Abi-hime makes her appearance today, and I'm thinking, ''...Okay, Kagura has got some SERIOUS competition.' She really didn't disappoint. She never made that big of an impression on me in the manga, but she is seriously cool in this episode. Plus she's pretty, and lastly, she has a halberd. A halberd! All the cool villains these days have halberds, I'm telling ya. Go Abi.

2) ...Where does Kagura keep getting replacement kimonos?

3) Props to the team in this episode for making the fight against Abi-hime and her birds hands-down one of the best battles we've had on the show for quite some time. And here I thought that brief little scuffle with Entei was awesome to watch. This blew that one away. And never mind the creepy army of Myougas; Abi's birds are going to give me nightmares. Jeebus, they scared the living daylights out of me. I can't remember being so unnerved by something onscreen in a long time. Maybe it's because of the way they sounded, but they were just... ugh. ::shudder:: Now I'm going to have a new phobia or something. But it was worth it...

4) I haven't gotten a screenshot of it yet, but I swear, when Kagura was watching Hakudoushi sleep, you could totally tell she was having the same thoughts as all of us fangirls. Seriously. Sure, she's pissed at him for trying to kill her and torturing her and everything, but... come on! Not even Kagura can resist the evil-adorability. Oh no. XD

5) This doesn't have anything to do with this episode, but even though the anime is having that stupid annual month-long break of its, it still makes me grin to think that after the Takki filler episode and whatever else airs, the next bit of canon is Hijiri-sama. Hijiri-sama, baby. Hell yeah... it's about time.
