1400th post. So naturally, I felt it was about time the wimpy wolf got some love.

In all seriousness, Kouga has grown on me perhaps more than any other Inuyasha character, in the sense that when his character was first introduced, I really wasn't all too fond of him. Now, though, I grin every time he shows up. There's just something about that cocky attitude of his, the way he gets along with the other characters (particularly dog-boy, his equally cocky rival), and his toga, that's just irresistable after a while. And I didn't really realize just how much I've grown to like him until he disappeared for over a year in the manga. It was a relief to finally see him come back.

Not to mention Ginta and Hakkaku are awesome. It's hard to imagine a better pair of sidekicks, and Kouga just wouldn't be Kouga if he didn't have those two chasing after him all the time. Can't forget to send them a little love too.

And last but not least, Kouga pwns, man.

You know what I could never figure out, is how come he can go from letting his pack kill villagers, presumably having done so himself at one point, but the minute he comes onto Kagome and decides he's not going to do that anymore everything is just like, A-OK. << I for one would continue to have a problem with the fact that he was a KILLER, no-pants, pwnage, or not....at least say something to the guy, smack him on the head with squeaky toy or SOMETHING. >>

Hehe, but in all seriousness. Y'know... I TOTALLY agree with you, Spexxie. I didn't realize just how LOVEABLE Kouga really was until he went missing for that year in manga time. Then the second he shows up again in the manga, he and Inu are at it like old times. And what can I say, I LOVED IT!!

Yeah, but even back when he let his pack attack villages and humans, Kouga was never nearly as bad as someone like, say, Sesshoumaru. At least Kouga and his pack only killed to eat, as opposed to just for the sake of killing and menacing. Until Kagome came along, I don't even think Kouga had an inkling that it might be wrong. He was obviously raised that way, so I guess he just never saw it from the humans' perspective. Not that he should get off any easier for that... but I think he does deserve a few props for stopping after he met Kagome.

I guess for Kagome-tachi, it all comes down to the theory that everyone deserves a second chance. Kagome is a pretty forgiving person; it's one of her strongest qualities. Of course, it's extra hard to stay mad at someone who gallantly comes to your rescue, calls you beautiful, and claims to be madly in love with you. ;; Kagome is also only human.

Plus, don't forget that Inuyasha wanted to kill him when they first met. Kagome was practically forced to come to Kouga's defense just to save his life. If she were to switch around after that and pick a moral fight with Kouga over what the past actions of his tribe, it really wouldn't help things that much.

I would like to see him get smacked on the head with a squeaky toy, though.

Though, I feel extremely irked that Ayame is not in the manga. If I'm not forgetting anyone, I believe she's the only non-canon character that is delightfully original and appealing. I happen to like her almost as much as I like Sango, and I really really wanted to see her and Kouga as a potential couple. Kouga desperately needs a girl besides hitting on Kagome...surely, it is making me sick. Takahashi should either end his attempts and make him realize that he'll never get around to Kagome as long as Inuyasha's alive, OR introduce an Ayame-like new character, or human girl, or whatever. ::pouts::
