Heh, I'm kinda surprised I'm the first to comment/start a thread. Unless I missed it or it was hidden in another thread? I looked and didn't see anything blatant, so hopefully I'm not double-posting.

Anyways, I saw 138 today (subbed). I dunno how many people here have seen Fushigi Yuugi and Naruto, but for those who have, did you get all kinda of deja vu?

The FY part is kinda obvious with Suzaku and the others, but I dunno, all the mention of jutsus and kagebunshin no jutsu, I had flashbacks to Naruto too, haha.

And I'm glad that Kagome is learning in regards to puppets and stuff. Granted it's just a filler, but at least she wasn't being totally stupid, like in some series. It made me happy that she tested the girls before following, and immediately stopped when they used thier names.

Oh, and the "stop making those weird poses, I can't concentrate!", then cutting the girls walking all wobbly, haha. That was awesome.

I'm loving the whole Suzaku, Byakko, Genbu, Seiryuu thing though, hehe. I only just recently watched Fushigi Yuugi and fell in love with it (and let me tell you, now the Nuriko/Jakotsu conversations make more sense). I love Suzaku's character in this episode though! Hehe. He(?) is just so cute and silly and funny. Poor guy(?) is always getting yelled at for posing.

I am kinda annoyed with Kagome though, for being so easily influenced by Houjou's family tree. Doesn't she stop to think that maybe she's not the ONLY Kagome running around that time period? It's like she's just completely ignoring all the things she's said and felt for Inuyasha because of the stretch of a possibility. And it's as though she's letting that fact cause her to develop feelings for Akitoki.

But yeah, it's been really fun and interesting thus far, I can't wait to see how the rest of this little arc plays out. Hopefully Kagome will come to her senses in regards to the family tree.

138 has been discussed a little bit in the 137 thread, but not that much so there's no reason for it not to have a thread of its own.

I enjoyed this episode and the previous one (and the following one) too. And God help me, but I like Houjou Akitoki. Even if he can be a bumbling idiot. He's still good people... and he's funny. You can't hate funny.

The kage bunshin totally reminded me of Naruto. I was like, "Hey, he stole Naruto's move!" I half expected him to hurl shuriken at Inuyasha afterward. Heh... the four gods thing didn't remind me as strongly of Fushigi Yuugi only because I've seen them used in at least three other anime, so it just sort of seemed like IY was just following tradition there. Suzaku did manage to attract my attention by completely getting on my nerves, though...

And a bit of a random comment, but I rewound and watched Miroku toss his shakujou in the air like three times... you can never have too much Miroku pwnage, I say.

Probably the one thing I didn't like about this entire saga was that Kagome managed to get herself kidnapped yet again...

Having never seen Naruto, the kagebunshin move reminded ME of Slayers, and the Shadow Snap spell, where you throw a dagger at someone's shadow to pin them. So, the whole "binding someone's shadow" thing is nothing new, since the Slayers reference is from ten years ago (god, I feel old). It's probably similar to the "four gods" thing. They're not "stealing" the names from any series since the names themselves go back a long way.

with all the ninpou and kagebushin, I too feel as though I'm watching an odd naruto/inuyasha crossover fanfic.

I think that the Sengoku Sandwich is funny...he chased after that onigiri which was funny...but he should back off from Kagome ¬¬

The whole Akitoki/Kagome thing doesn't bother me much because everybody knows it's not ever going to happen, so it's just a temporary little bump in the road. Not even a real bump, really. Just... I don't know, a small pile of leaves, or something. Which is probably not something Kagome and Inuyasha are all that unaccustomed to.

You know everything will turn out fine and we'll get a cute little moment at the end for our trouble. And Akitoki will find another Kagome to marry and thus pass along a neverending appreciation for all things Kagome down to all of his descendents...

::goes off to watch Akitoki fly up the waterfall in 139 again::

You poor, poor, deprived thing you. Go rent/buy Slayers and Fushigi Yuugi now. Naruto you should be able to download somewhere.

Well, you gotta give the girl SOME credit. It wasn't as pathetic and easily avoided a kidnapping as has happened in the past. I think if someone other than Akitoki had been there, anyone who could defend themselves, even SHIPPOU, it might not have happened. She seemed to be holding her own pretty well, until Akitoki jumped in and she had to save him. That's when she got distracted and the bad guys took the opportunity to snatch her.

Hehe, Inuyasha shook that boy good for losing her though.



You know what? Me too. And it's not modern day Houjou I can't place it, but I did have a weird feeling of recognition. I'm not sure if his behavior or appearance of what. Maybe it's a tiny bit Miroku. I have no idea why, but just now thinking about it made me think of Miroku earlier in the series. I think Akitoki's laugh after soemthing bad happens reminds me of Miroku's after he gets slapped or caught being a pervert.

I once rented and watched all of slayers (except for the last movie of the first season) all in one day... i got sooOOO sick of it had to return the movie eheheh i would like to rent it again though, as i look back at it now i think i would like it... (i was only 17 at the time and didnt have much experience in watching anime)

This one, however, is just a simple, harmless, everyday bump. You know they're gonna laugh about it years from now. He reminds me of the guy with the monkey from the Frog-youkai-possesses-a-young-lord saga, way back in the begining...you know, the ep where Kagome actually still fights instead of calling for Inuyasha, and fries him with a candle and some hairspray. ^^; It's been so long ago that I can't remember his name...but I do remember feeling sorry for him after he went through all that trouble to save the spouse of the princess he was in love with. ~_~

Hot damn... come to think of it, he does remind me of Nobunaga. Both Houjous, actually. They even sound kinda alike (in both the dub and the original).

Ohh! Is it just me or does anyone else find the demon Hoshiyomi, cute?? I find him adorable....But then again he is a huge powerfull demon, and I always fall for those. ( Remebers Sesshoumaru, ahhhh ) To bad is evil.

He reminds me a lot of a combo between Sesshoumaru, Menoumaru (I think, the bad guy from the first movie) and I think Renkotsu. Thought in the opposite order, haha.

I think that Urusei lady who revived Kikyo had an apprentice, and that person stole the DNA of those three guys and combined it into one super-villain, 50% Renkotsu, 40% Menoumaru and 10% Sesshoumaru.

So... no, I don't find him that cute, lol. Renkotsu's bastard-ness shines through too much and I just get all agitated :-p


Oh, and you guys were right about Akitoki and Nobunaga. He's the one I was reminded of too.

Kind of confused with the villain. Is he somehow related to the villains to the InuYasha movie 1? I haven't see the first movie. He looks like he is. They were sprouting out so many new names, I couldn't follow.

Has anyone downloaded the sub from saiyaman and inuyasha4ever? I heard there was a funny line in saiyaman's translation.

Overall I thought it was cute. Houjun is cute and loveable. too bad nothing is going to happen between him and Kagome. They look nice together. Finally there's a character weaker than Kagome. She gets to protect someone else for a change. Too bad it was for a little bit. I like it when Kagome takes charge. Not a wimpy school girl.

I saw this ep, and while I was pissed off at the fact Sammich boy thought he should try to put the moves on Kagome...and the fact that she actually acted like a fifteen year old girl and entertained the thought of someone nicer...I was really happy that she finally kicked some more ass. She was rocking with those arrows, man! I love it when she actually shows how strong she really is. ^^;

i almost didnt download this one because ep 137 bored me. but now i'm glad i DL'd it. although the naruto spinoff/ripoff was kinda hilarious, lol.

what the heck is Sango's butokan move (sp) ? just looked like another hiraikotsu toss. And even SHIPPOU got into the technique display! Kitsune bi! lol.

and where the hell has this villain been all this time, lol? He's already monstrously powerful, he's like Sessho's long lost twin brother! Maybe this arc will reveal that hoshiyo is actually Sessho's brother, not Inuyaha. Hehehe.

I'm pretty sure he was sealed in Mt. Hakurei, and was released when the mountain collapsed. So, he's been around for maybe a few weeks or so. Plus, it was only after he got released that he had any real malicious intentions, being pissed off at his girlfriend and all.

I mean, from the sounds of the previews for episode 140, it looks like Tsukiyomi sealed him because she wanted to seal away his spear (maybe because it was cursed or in some other ways dangerous). Of course, if her reasons for apparently turning on him WERE benign, you'd think the least she could do was TELL him BEFORE randomly whipping out a can of whoopass.

Yeah, it reminded me of the shadow snap too. I've never seen Naruto or FY. They had four baddies named after the four gods in Yu Yu Hakusho too.

The modernday Houjou gets on my nerves. I like Akitoki though. He's funny.
