Suikotsu reminds me of Wolverine,one of my Favorite X-men, Jakotsu is the chick pretending to be a guy right? I forget cause I burned all my Inu Yashas on disc

Jakotsu, funny as hell and has the cool snake sword. Bankotsu would be 2nd he's stupid, but his Banryuu is cool.

I think Jakotsu is my fav, he's really funny. Inu's and Miroku's faces where priceless "Can I suck him up?" "Sure"
Next, ehmm, Suikotsu I like his fighting, and Bankotsu is funny too,
Suikotsu is next, he fights cool.
Renkotsu, he's smart. His fighting-style is weak though, pity.
Genkotsu, he can die now, I don't like his fightingstyle. He's too slow, and he looks lame too.
Mukotsu, he's so annoying, not funny at all. I don't like his fighting either. Only funny thing was his voice to Seshoumaru "Oh, I should have never opposed you..... Okay, that's enough, time to die."
Last is the remaining one. Worse than Genkotsu. Man, I thought he looked like that and was so big because of the Shikon Shard, but no, he's supposed to look like that.

i think suikotsu is the coolest/most interesting... i like characters that are torn by conflict...

the funniest would have to be jakotsu. he's so droll and laid-back... and he's an inuyasha fanboy, which is funny...

I don't think jakotsu is a "fanboy" as you put it houshi. I think he wants Inu Yasha the way Kagome wants Inu Yasha. He's too weird to be my favorite. I like Suikotsu he's just like freddy and wolverine with a beserker look to him. I'm not sure if Jakotsu is a him, Maybe he is like that girl in the stupid disney movie "Mulan".

Here we seem to be getting back to some earlier threads- where the more feminine guys are more appealing to some women...There was a wonderful story about that colonel in Iraq who courted 50 or so women- but he charmed them by using phrases women had written to him....

Heh, I don't really think he wants Inuyasha the way that Kagome does. I think he wants Inuyasha in more of a "dead" sort of way. I think he wants to off Inuyasha and, you know, keep what remains for his own purposes, whatever those may be.

I like Renkotsu; he's definitely the smartest of the Shichinintai

For the record, Jakotsu is a guy. He uses masculine words and he's definitely flat-chested. His interest in Inuyasha is something between "crazed fangirl" and "crazed stalker", but in the end he's not really looking for a "relationship" like Kagome is...all will become clear in future episodes ^_~ Personally, I love Jakotsu to death because he's very unique: he doesn't take much of anything seriously and he gets to act as the Fangirl's Voice and hit on every single member of the male cast

I also love Bankotsu because he's short. Yes, it's lame, but I like people who can kick a lot of ass while looking up at damn near everybody. I will say I like him much better now thanks to his appearance in the anime...in the manga, he felt very generic and "filler enemy" like, imho. Somehow he's just much more appealing in "living color". This goes double for Ginkotsu, who was really stupid in the manga (I kept thinking, where the @%!!*% did they get that kind of fire-power?!) but really awesome animated. Ginkotsu "idling" is the greatest thing ever.

I guess the only one I don't really like is Suikotsu. He's just boring, so thankfully he dies fast.

Jakotsu is my favorite character! Bankotsu comes next because he's strong and an idiot.

Jakotsu is my favorite for all of the reasons Bakadeshi already listed. He's cute, he's funny, he's easygoing, he has good taste in men , and he's an evil psychopath. What's not to like?

Bankotsu is a close second. I actually see a lot of similarities between him and Inuyasha. Both act pretty dumb, but I think they're more clever than they get credit for. (I mean, there's more to a character than being able to read and write.) And even though Bankotsu is a villain and a killer, he's not really all that bad compared to some of the other villains. I think he's got some pretty good leadership skills too. He really does care about the members of his team, and for the most part, they all respect him as well. (Renkotsu doesn't count; Renkotsu is a slimeball.) And I've got a healthy respect as well for a human character who can swing a weapon as huge as Banryuu around without even breaking a sweat.

The other Shichinin-tai I can take or leave, but Jakotsu and Bankotsu are classic.

I don't know what it is, but whenever I see Bankotsu act or move, or hear him talk, I'm just constantly reminded of Kouga. Maybe it's just me, but there is this very intense parallel there. For that reason, despite the sword, he can't be my favorite.

Suikotsu's alright, but he's very underdeveloped.

Jakotsu would have to be my favorite though. And I think, although this discussion was a while ago, that Jakotsu likes Inuyasha in that sort of want-him-so-much-you-want-to-hurt him type thing. Kind of reminds me of Lennie from Of Mice and Men. Plus the fact that Inuyasha is such a great opponent.

Suikotsu underdeveloped? Not compared to the other Shichinintai, he isn't. Suikotsu is shown to have two personalities, each of them despising everything that the other one stands for. He's the only one who has a chance at being a dynamic or complex character, one who can change or grow into something else. Unlike his brothers, who are pretty static and undeveloped.

Kyokutsu is a big stupid lug who gets killed.

Mukotsu laughs a lot, then gets killed.

Ginkotsu laughs a lot, blows up stuff, and almost gets killed.

Jakotsu is pretty funny, but all he does is flirt with Inuyasha.

I think Renkotsu is a bit more interesting than the others. He is clearly ambitious, and he has you wondering just how far he'll go to acquire power.

Bankotsu is pretty straightforward and simple (he's that way up to ep 112, at least, I've never seen the manga).

Bankotsu does seem to care for his brothers/followers, like a good leader should. But he's not really unique in that sense. Renkotsu also seems to care for his brothers (rebuilds Ginkotsu's body, takes the time to search for and 'wake up' Suikotsu, wonders about why Naraku revived them). Jakotsu seems like a nice and easygoing guy overall (nice only to his brothers, that is). Etc etc.

Yeah... but seems is more or less the key word in that sentence. He's a lot slimier than he appears to be at first--in the end, probably the only person he really cares about is himself.

You're right about Jakotsu, though. Another reason why he's my favorite of the seven.

Jakotsu is so cheery (most of the times).
So I like him 'cus he boost my spirits!
I loved in ep. 109 (maybe 108?),
when he goes "Hi Inuyasha!!" and waves.

Bankotsu just makes me laugh.
Like when trying to write the letter.
"Wash your face... I mean necks."
And when he thinks Kohaku's a Shinobi,
and Kohaku goes along with it in the end!
But you really can't tell his stupidity.
Sometimes he seems a little spaced out...
and sometimes he really acts like the boss.

For me its a tie. I really like Bankotsu, because he's and idiot lol and the fact that he is the leader, very arrogant. (By the way .. HOW is he the leader? they decided it because he's stronger?) haha

And then its Jakostu because i just like him. My friend kind of acts like him, which i dunno if thats good or bad . lol j/k.

i love jakotsu .. maybe takahashi-sensai put jakotsu in there not only to complete the shinitai but to represent us fangirls and boys! i know a lot of us dont want inuyasha dead for our own pleasure.... but omg that guy is o funny XD! he makes me laugh all the time. i want to hug jakotsu! even though he might kill me for despising women ;

bankotsu is definitly second best... hes kinda cute... hes not the brightest crayon in the box, hes got a bigass sword, and he reminds me of inuyasha! hes kinda the leader of the pack, they both got big swords, they arent too bright, and they are over confident... I LOVE THEEEEEM!!!

jakotsu is funny, ill atleast say that. but the sword, thats kind of far fetched, even for inu yasha.....maybe i just read a bad translation, but its something like snake-blade right? kind of corny, but oh well.

Bankotsu is the hottest Shichintai. Therefore I must say he is my favorite. We saw him cry in 117! He has a huge halberd.... I am pretty amused that he is so damn short.

Jakotsu beats out Suikotsu for second even if Suikotsu is pretty hot in doctor form. Its really nice to finally have someone saying all the things that fangirls everywhere are thinking. Houshi is sexy, Inuyasha is adorable in both human and normal forms, Sesshoumaru is handsome, and Kouga is wearing short shorts. Isnt it nice to have someone finally saying what you have been thinking all along!

Suikotsu is third, he is attractive in doctor form. Being wolverine-like isnt bad either... His last scene was touching as well.

Renkotsu is 4th in my book, he is somewhat creepy looking, but he is intelligent, something that few other Shichinintai seem to be.

Ginkotsu gets 5th for liking Renkotsu so much, but he sucks otherwise.

Kyokutsu gets 6th because he isnt as creepy as Mukotsu and that scene with Kouga ripping the shard out of his forehead is damn awesome.

Mukotsu is soooo creepy. He loses.

My favorite is Bankotsu because of his design, his spear/halbread, and his seiyuu rules. Then I like is a tie between Renkotsu and Suikotsu.

Wash your face and wait for the ax. Yep. XD His utter naivety (well, maybe that's not the appropriate word...) is just so damn adorable, and I just wanna huggle him... Er... wait. oO;

Suikotsu... well, let's just say I got very teary-eyed when he finally met his end. His past is tragic... reminds me a bit of Kikyou. Yeah, I like Kikyou. Stop looking at me like that...

For some reason, I don't really despise Renkotsu. Okay, well, yeah I do, for certain reasons revealed in episode 119... but everyone seems to have ganged up on him for plotting behind Bankotsu's (*glompage*) back, but I never really *hated* him for it. Just call it indifference...

Any short characters that manage to be that cool make me very pleased...nice to know us short people can kick ass too Bankotsu's also not quite as stupid as he seems to be...sure, he's lacking in book-learning but he can be remarkably astute about other manners. I give him mad props for his outlook too--Renkotsu's all power-hungry and annoying, but Bankotsu is sort of like a big kid. Life is there to be lived, and he doesn't want to bother with playing games. So that's fun

I also think Bankotsu and Jakotsu are really cute as a team. It's just really obvious that they've been best buddies since way back. And...

Actually, they more or less verify that in this flashback! Bankotsu and Jakotsu started the Shichinintai together And it seems like Jakotsu has a crush on Fearless Leader as well (though Bankotsu is oblivious). How cute!

i'm actually not much of a bankotsu fan but i had to respond to bakadeshi's post and AMEN to the short guys comment. i feel like i'm constantly waxing poetic on this but hiei from yuyu hakusho is one of my favorit characters ever specifically because he is short and kicks tremendous ass.

jakotsu and bankotsu's friendship is adorable, it's true. every which way though i like jakotsu the best-- for being so funny, so twisted, and ever so flamingly gay.

If Renkotsu was so smart then he should be able to count that 3 shards ( his, genkotsu, jakotsu ) is less then bankotsus 4 shards ( his, suikotsu, mutkostu, big guy )

Plus Bankotsu was always stronger then renkotsu relied on equipment more then himself so why does he have shards in himself and rather not his equipment? At least bankotsu was smart enough to make his halberd stronger and not hog it all.

OH YEAH that also counts! All those shards stolen are in his blade! Yeah so how smart is Renkotsu after this? I mean I'd rather try to reason with a kid then try to fight with the odds 10000:0 vs me

I mean, he IS smart, but by no means substantially smarter then the rest. Even suikotsu can compare. Just that you never see him have a chance to be smart...like once or twice but that's it.

Well, I'd have to say, Jakotsu is my favorite. He's hilarious, he's all lighthearted and flirty and it's so funny and adorable! Plus I love how he tucks his kimono up into his belty thingy. And and and I LOVE his sword. That has to be one of the coolest swords I've ever seen. And jeez, can you imagine how hard it must be to be able to use that sword as well as he did? I mean every once in awhile he'd slip up but still! *Jakotsu love*

I know the meaning of kotsu means like bones or something, but I wonder if they had any other previous names or just conicedentaly (sp?) met other people with names ending in kotsu.

just a side note y'all need to stop hatin' on renkotsu. i mean how intellegent was bankotsu in trusting naraku. if he was able to kill inuyasha u dont think naralu would take his shards back?

i'd have to say that suikotsu is...was...my favorite, that poor tormented soul
