I'm happy someone else was wondering about that!!! It makes me crazy! Now I had to wear a uniform in high school and it was not a happy experience, i.e. I would NEVER EVER wear it voluntarily. Obscenely expensive (and ugly, and poorly made) polyester/wool blend miniskirts are definately not outdoor adventure clothes. I'm thinking maybe in Japan uniforms are really cheap so she has a lot of extras around but I don't know, it really annoys me though..just needed to share my bitterness w/ my fellow anime fans...

Shippou probably learned how to read from his father, I guess. Although we don't have exact ages, it's clear that youkai live far longer than humans do--Shippou probably has a lot of tricks up his sleeve that belie his apparent physical age.

Well, his brother can fly. I figure, half-youkai, half the power--he tries to fly but ultimately fails. The better question is, since when can dogs fly?

Poor Kyoukotsu was born with a terrible disorder called "The Giant Shounen Enemy" syndrome. It caused him to be drawn three times the normal size so he can look more menacing, but his internal weakness allows him to be easily defeated by any Hero he runs across. Poor guy, it's a terrible fate...he got his ass kicked by Kouga.

Well, a lot of school girls do run around in their school uniforms after school. Maybe they aren't as uncomfortable as other uniforms, or maybe they just don't want to bother changing before partying. (Or maybe this helps them pick up older men.) At any rate, Kagome might just be wearing the uniform because she's used to it and it makes her recognizable as the "girl from the future". Or maybe it's because that's all she has left...she did change once in a while toward the beginning of the series, but her normal clothes probably got ripped to shreds by now. At least school uniforms are easily replaced.

Now for my question:
Where do Sesshoumaru's clothes come from? (Not the fuzzy, just the clothes--his white pants, etc.) We see them melt into him when he transforms, making it seem like they're a part of his false-form body--so what happens if his armor gets broken? Does he get a cut paw? What if he took his clothes off and transformed? Would he be missing some fur or something?

About the bicycle, though--he couldn't have learned from Kagome, because the very first time he met her he actually used her bike to kidnap her. That's one of the reasons I'm so baffled about it. Somehow he figures out how to ride the bike (while holding Kagome in his lap, which I forgot to mention before) just moments after his first encounter with the Inuyasha gang...

Maybe he's just a really fast learner.

These questions are all puzzling most have no reasonable answer. The first one though, how can miroku ride a bike. I dunno bout you guys but the first time i tried riding a bike i was 5 years old and it was one of the easiest things ive ever done and still is. My point being if you are in your 20s and you have trouble riding a bike be it your first or 5000th time your what i like to call uncoordinated. The real question that seems as if it will never be answered is what the hell is the fluffy thing on Sesshoumaru-samas arm it never really does anything and has never been mentioned in the series, perhaps this great mystery will be solved one day perhaps not oh well.


Oh and why the hell does IY a dog demon have cats ears that i will never understand anytime i show an episode to someone i know i have to listen to why does he have cats ears its real annoying

Here's a good question......how does Kagome's skirt stay in place? It gets blown around, she does flips, goes through the air, and underater. But her skirt never comes up. Is it made of steel or something?? o.O

Some dogs do have very stiff, upright ears. Japanese Akita, for one--they also have bushy white tails and white coats.

BUT I don't think the Fuzzy is a tail! Sesshoumaru does have a tail in his youkai form, but he ALSO has the fuzzy...and it's pretty clear that they are distinct appendages. I think the Fuzzy is just there to be pretty, and to act as a personal link to Hammerspace. That way he can stash swords and clothes and whatever when he transforms ^_~

I always thought it was a mane in his dog form (Like a lion's) and the one on his shoulder belonged to his father or something.

R; Kagome's Unifrom; From what we;ve seen of her clothes, she doesn't have a very extensive wardrobe. And her other outifts are even less appopriate for traipsing around. Her other skirts are as short, but perhaps less easy to move around in. And frankly, they're just not very attractive (dippy sweater and skirt outift and strange yellow dcress with a cardigan over it) , and certainly not as appealing to guys as the little school girl outfit. And I thought Sango wore her fighting dress underneath her other clothes, so she can quickly dump them if necessary ( and it takes NO time to put up a ponytail!).
And I like watching Inuyasha float down...I like it a lot. Never wondered nearly as much about that as about hey, there;re these dog demons hanging around when you fall through a well to another time. .. .

and yeah the gym bottoms are true to form, as are kagome's loose socks. i've never understood the underwear gym bottoms, but oh well.

About the ears, yeah Akitas have upright ears like that. So do Sayomeds. And all the Sayomeds I've ever seen look like Sesshy when he's transformed. Shiba Inus also have the upright ears and fluffy (haha, I love that word) tail.

That's possible, but she's definitely not wearing the top half of her uniform under her clothes if that's the case, because you'd be able to see the neckline of her uniform if so.

Incidentally, I agree about Kagome's other clothes. Well of course Kouga IS simplistic... and that is also the reason (sort of) that
we shouldnt even care about that sword's existence, since Kouga is so weak, if
he had any asses up his sleeve, he would ve used them already... so if there

How come Kagome is a little slut? Lol, lemmy put this better…. She always sits in this one position where you can see right up her skirt but her legs cover it in the screen shot. But they can’t cover it up from all angles. She is just inching for Inu to look up her skirt sometimes…And yet when some one even attempts to see her naked she hacks stuff at them.

And I have the answer to the Sango out fit. I thought it was obvious…. She has her fighter outfit right under the one she has on. And all that would be is a rob. Look carefully and you will see it, but how she gets her boots on baffles me.


I have lived in Japan for little bits in my life and yes after school most girls do just walk around in their uniform. I am sure after school you all don’t go home and change out of the outfit you whore to school into something else then go back out. It just takes up to much time. Why she wears it to feudal Japan? Well maybe it all started because that was the 1st thing she whore when she went there. I could have sworn there was a episode where Inu said something about her uniform and I guess she thinks he likes it. But I think back to the 1st movie when her mom gave her the uniform before she went back, she told her to, “be herself.” So that leads me to think she just likes the uniform… I had one when I was in 7th grade there. It looked more like Sakura’s from CCS but never the less they are convertible. You may think they are ugly but in Japan there is a much different fashion sense. But the real reason…. It is an anime!!!! Come on there is a school uniform in every one of them!

ok- I disagree a little here- when Inuyashas sees her naked, she's not too upset- but when Miroku is trying to peek- that's different. 'Can't say I disagree about her seated posture saeems a bit risque, but I really think you're kinda stuck with that short a skirt.
Sitting with one's knees tucked under all the time, whcih is what she would have to do when they're out in the pastures all the time, just isn't very comfy.
But why her mom and grandpa don't get upset when a strange demon from another world goes dashing naked and frothy into their teenage grand/daughters' bedroom...

I can tell you why Kagome always wears her schoolgirl outfit, and it's a lot simpler than you think. The reason is... It's a fan service. How hard is it to get panty shots of a miko outfit? But that short skirt... well you get the idea, it's so us guys are more attracted to Kagome, even tho she isn't real, and want to see more of Inu Yasha. I'm sure that the creators of the show want to appeal to both the male and female audience and this is just one of those ways.

So we seem to have concluded that Kagome wears her uniform because

~It's second-nature to her, since that's what she would normally wear in the present
~She likes it/thinks it suits her/etc.
~It's become habit by now
~Every anime needs a girl in a cute school uniform
~Rumiko Takahashi can't be bothered drawing her in something else
~Her normal clothes are even worse
~The guys need their fan service

About Sango, though--she can't be wearing her uniform under her normal outfit, unless she's only wearing part of it. Take a look:



The neckline of her taijiya uniform is way too high for her yukata to cover up. Though she does still seem to be wearing the lower part of the taijiya outfit. There's no way she can be wearing the top, though. My bet is she carries that, the shoulder/elbow/knee-pads, and her boots in that blue bundle she's got. And as for her sword... well... she materializes it out of thin air...?

Maybe she has the collar of her taijiya folded down.

I imagine it's a combination. She wears part of the uniform and carries the rest in a travel bag (I thought I'd seen her somewhere before with a bundle she uses to carry things in). And well, she doesn't say, "Taijiya Power Makeup!" (although that would be funny to see), and then she's in her armor and padding. It's just like the toilet thing. You just have to imagine that she's getting dressed (which I imagine some hentais do! hehe) somewhere in the bushes.

Ozy, most people on the other forums I use this handle at have taken to calling me 'Spect', so that'll probably work best. I hope the anime explains a couple of these things too--hey, that's what filler episodes are for, right? I'd also like to see Inuyasha meet a few of Kagome's fans (as it is, I'll have to stick to reading fanfic to see versions of what might happen).

And yeah, Myouga being a demon flea probably has a lot to do with his bloodsucking abilities, I'd imagine.


All right, now--here's a more complex question that I seriously would like to see answered. What happened to Miroku's shikon shards?

That's right, Miroku's shards! The first time he meets Inuyasha-tachi, Kagome mentions that he has three jewel shards. I don't ever recall him giving them up to Kagome or anyone else as the series moved on (if he did and I just missed it, then by all means enlighten me). So for all we know, he still has them.

Which brings me to what is probably my biggest complaint about the anime IY storyline. During episode 33, when Kikyou is captured by Naraku and the gang goes after her, they all fall prey to Naraku's Illusionary Death spell except for Kagome. In the anime, Naraku says it's because of the jewel shards Kagome has, and indeed as soon as Kikyou takes them, Kagome briefly falls victim to the spell as well. My question is, then: if the spell didn't work on Kagome because she had jewel shards... then why did it work on Miroku?

I personally think this is the biggest flub-up in the anime. In the manga version, Kagome is never affected by the spell at all, and the explanation is that it's because of her miko powers, not the jewel shards. The anime goes and changes all that--all just so they can show a shot of Inuyasha and Kikyou kissing in Kagome's dream.

well inuyasha time is diffrent though days can go past in minutes in there so maybe sango doesnt really change that fast after all you know it could really take her 2 minutes instead of 5 seconds real time

Didn't mukotsu say that the poison he used on kagome, miroku, and sango affected only humans? If I recall correctly, he used a different type of poision (a youkai-specific poison) on Kirara and Sesshomaru (well, he ATTEMPTED to use a different type of poison on Sesshomaru)...

Sesshoumaru-sama's powers are Poison-based. Therefore, he is immune to them(or at least the human made ones). :ph34r:

i think his immunity has something to do with the fact that he's a taiyoukai....prince of the western lands you know =P
