Full Version: Why Are The Americans Screwed?
#Animeforever > Animeforever Closed Projects > Inuyasha
jms011
Yeah. That's right. We Americans are screwed. Because we don't get the Japanese channels. But that's why we love fangirlfriday! biggrin.gif

Anyways, what's up with that? Is it due to the RIAA (Recording Idots Around America) sueing everyone and everything? All the Inus are MIA from Kazaa. FGF, please keep the files available on your site.

Anyone know where we Americans get our Inuyasha?
Spectrum
I don't see how the RIAA could possibly have anything to do with a lack of people sharing IY on Kazaa (seeing as there's no way in hell they could sue someone for sharing those), but I guess they could have scared a few people off somehow... though it's pretty silly if they have.

Can't help you about finding the episodes somewhere else, because to be honest, Kazaa's where I got the majority of my episodes before I finally caught up. You could try eMule, I guess. And actually, I think there are a few other sites... but other people around here know better than I do, so I'll just shut up. tongue.gif

Bah RIAA...
but anyways... i got Inuyasha episodes 1-proably 1-105 out of direct connect...
It may be slower then Kazaa, but you can find almost anything....
Keitaro
there seems to be a lack of material on kazaa in general.

I got the first 96 episodes of of kazaa myself

there are several reasons why Americans are "screwed" out of anime. for example, Anime is made in japan in japanese, that would probably be the biggest reason. japanese tv stations are on the whole other side of the planet and so in order for us to actually recieve them the they would have to be broadcast through thousands of miles of solid rock and metal. They don't really care about us here in america so they're not going to expend the money and effort to broadcast over satilite. the rest of the reason may include one or more of the following. not enough interest. cost of translating/dubbing/subbing too high. cannot get rights. too popular, waiting to build hype (one of the BIG ones with Viz on Inuyasha i would guess). other projects currently in progress/no time/manpower/money to spend on it.

When A company dubs/subs an Anime title they must first determine if it will sell. they are, first and foremost, a business and out to make money. Once they have decided that a title will or will not sell they must buy the rights to it. then they must pay someone to translate it and voice actors to act it out. they they must market and advertise it. It is not so simple as ooh we'll just tranlslate any old thing for the hell of it and put it out on the shelves of stores everywhere.

With inuyasha though there are several groups fansubbing the later episodes Viz owns the liscence to distribute the earlier ones. They know it is incredibly popular. they know it will sell like nothing else. they have, by the sound of it, incredibly cheap voice actors and they've marketed it very well. there is a lot of demand for it. they know that they can make a lot of money over it so what do they do? they put a very few episodes on a DVD because they know that some people will actually go out and buy every single one of them. they put it on at an insanely late hour on a cable station to further build interest. then they hold back newer releases to build even more demand for it, and thus make more money when they actually end up releasing the next disc. Isn't business and marketing fun?

1994 - 1997
Sailor Moon ep. 1 - 46.
They showed these 46 eps, over and over,
over and over and over and over again!

1998 - 2003
Sailor Moon ep. 1 - 88.
They've shown this over and over and over,
and over and over and over and over again!

Sailor Moon is like the only anime we have in Sweden,
except from Pokémon, Digimon and Beyblade...
They only dubbed it to ep 88!! Why can't they move on!?

[frustration]
At least u have anime in America! You fools!
You don't know what you have, so be happy dammit!

I know every line in episode 70, Sailor Mars vs Cooan,
I know it's sad... but I know EVERY single line in it! O_o
...in swedish, that is...

As a fellow swedish citizen I agree with patrioil.
Americans have no right to complain dry.gif
The companys there atleast knows what anime is. Manga has gotten a better hold here but anime is still in shitty condition.

are you using kazaa or kazaa lite? if it's regular old kazaa, i suggest you go trolling the internet to download a cracked version of kazaa lite. you can search many more times using that and i have had perfect success getting old episode with it.

That's true... We have no right to co,mplain, and that's why I am not complaining.

Tho, there are those who it bitch, moan, compain, and groan over anything.

Back about 2 years, on a certian day in September, something changed. Before that, we Americans were complacant with lives. Suddenly, we were shown that we let our guard down when 4 jumbo jets were used/atttempeted to be used as huge bombs. Unfortunaly, it took a tragedy that large to make an impact of that magnitude.
Vlion
heh.
I got up to....90 something off Kazaa last spring.

If its 3-8 eps only you want and you live in the US, I could probably burn a CD or two and send them to you.

I have the complete series up to...124.

I rarly use Kazaa, and only when I can't find it anywhere else cause it tends to mess up the machine.

However:
Direct connect is popular and very good if you have broadband.
So is IRC. Those 2 are your best bets that don't rely on the standard P2P media nets.

Bittorrent is the best for new releases.

See downloadanime.org? .com? and animesuki.com for bittorrent files.

I guess I was using Kazaa lite, cuz I never found eps there, but after a marathon week of downloading, I found 90+ eps on Direct Connect. And thats how I found this and FGF. Since then, its BT all the way.
Jakk_Frost
Umm, not sure what's wrong with your Kazaa then, cuz I just picked up the 124 subbed eps and both movies with it over the last week. (Though I could dearly wish for some better subs of the first 30 or so). I was getting upwards of 500-600 sources for most files.

Perhaps the problem is that you need to set it to Auto Search. You can set it to run by number of searches, number of minutes, or constantly (No Limit). If you use the latter it will just continually update the search, which will help you download quicker, but it can eat up system resources after a while, so you may want to stop it when you have enough sources, or at least til some resources free up.

P.S. And I was just using plain old Kazaa Lite, didn't need a cracked version or anything.

But KaZaA lite is the cracked version...
the normal version of kazaa (last time i used it, which was a long time ago) could only search more once... was filled with ad ware, and you have to upload alot to be able to download at a half decent rate...
Jakk_Frost
Ah, ok, good point. I did know that, but lu-chan said

And I assumed lu meant there was actually a cracked version of Kazaa Lite.

And I wouldn't touch regular Kazaa with a ten-foot pole. It uses the same engine as another program I tried in my naivete after Napster went down, I think it was called MusicCity Morpheus or something like that. I swore I wouldn't even go near Kazaa Lite, but a friend convinced me to try it for downloading Anime. And that's all I download with it. If I want anything else, I use BT or eDonkey since the files are more likely to be verified. Besides which, sometimes I have to download an ep 2 or 3 times, and I mean the exact same file, just to get one free of transmission errors, as Kazaa doesn't seem to use any kind of hash check.

Anyways, another thing I meant to say on-topic is, don't complain that only Americans can't get it. I live in Canada and we don't get the new eps here either. They just started showing the series here and it's only up to 10. Not exactly something to thrill the socks off though because THEY'RE DUBBED!!! sad.gif

My god we NORTH Americans are so lame at dubbing Anime. Even pronunciation of names is utterly cringeworthy. (Kagome is pronounced Kug-go-mee). On top of that, the voice-actors have absolutely no idea how to put the right emotion into their voices. Basically, they've youth-enized it. (pun intended)

Down with dubbed, LONG LIVE SUBBED!
Ahsa
Well, I use plain old Kazaa and since I don't really know the difference between that and Kazaalite then I don't mind sticking with what I have thankyouverymuch.
I know I'm sharing all the FgF subbed Inuyashas and the two movies, and every upload I see is mostly these, so I don't know why you can't find them on kazaa(lite).
But as for manga I can't wait idly by for Viz to get thier asses moving. They release Inuyasha at such a slow rate... so that's why I'm trying to order a Japanese one from Web Sunday site. I haven't gotten very far on my limited Chinese/Japanese - English skills, but I'm trying!
jms011
Yes I know we Americans are spoiled dirty rotten. But that's why there are Swedish chicks out there. (No pun folks.) If you kind folks over in Sweden would like any episodes from Cartoon Network or any anime I can find, be glad to send it to you PAL, NTSC, or CD.
