Do you suppose (as in guess, not spoil from manga) Kagome will get some more powers next to her arrows? For instance, in ep 1, she can shoot some sort of energy from her hand, to fry the centirpide. That power would certainly be usefull. I mean, she's been really weak lately (okay, now with the Shicinintai it's getting better, at least she always brings her bow now, but still), it would be cool. After all, Kikyo has many powers, why couldn't Kagome have some too? Heh, maybe she could get the last part of her soul back, and gain powers that way. I mean, they already fixed up Genkotsu in a way that reminded me of Frieza's resurrection ("I will make you more powerfull than before", didn't Renkotsu say something like that), why not use Piccolo's fusion-trick too .
Okay, it needn't be like that, but I think the 'human gang' could do with some extra power. Miroku can hardly ever use his air void, Sango's boomrang gets knocked away by every enemy that matters (Couldn't Totosai make a better one, with another one of Inu Yasha's fangs perhaps), and Kagome hardly ever shoots an arrow lately. Instead, she's keeps waiting for Inu Yasha to rescue her (or Kouga, when he's around) That time when Kohaku tried to waste her, in episode 52 or something, she manged on her own pretty well, against a large number of Youkai. She appears weaker now. Such a pity.

Didn't Kagome's power come from the Shikon no Tama within her?
Right now she's satisfied with the shooting arrows and seeing shards.

Hey, you know, I never thought about that. It could have been the Shikon no Tama. Gee, I feel dumb now . But still, Kikyo does have plenty other powers. Kagome is so damn vurnerable.
And her ability to see shards appear to fluctuate. Sometimes she can sense the shards from miles away, and sometimes she doesn't notice it till she's right on top of them (She never noticed that poison guy, untill he stood before her, Kirara smelled Kohaku before Kagome sensed his shard etc.)

I too would like to see some new powers maybe being able to put up her own priestess barriers?

I agree with her not shooting any arrows. In ep 111 she was just standing around, until that one arrow however.

Indeed, untill that one arrow. Now, do you remember how long that had been. I can't recall the last time she shot one before that one. But I'm sure it was a while. And since the Shicinintai are with more than one, she still fights too little. I mean, in ep111, everyone fought, except for Kagome, untill that one last arrow at the very end.

who really cares shes Kagome shes supposed to be the helpless girl and Inu is the big hero. I think it would be lame if the great hanyou needed too much help from humans

Well a few of you out there will know where I am coming from:

If you own the Playstation game “A Feudal Fairy Tale” You would be surprised how many powers Kagome has, they all relate to the same thing but put her up aganst some one strong as Sesshomaru and well… I beat him in under 30 seconds…
(This is a fighting game if you are wondering; it has a little bit of RPG in it but mainly a fighter.)
I see all the other characters have their same weapons and then the “Big weapon attack” Exs:
InuYasha would use Bakuhal.. (Can’t spell now)
And Sesshormaru would just transform into the big doggie and auto KO you if you were in his attack path. And the rest are pretty obvious, Miroku… duhh.. Sango, hers is a little diff, she slicks a PO’d Kirara after you, lol.


Well anyways I was talking about Kagome, her attacks all have to do with spiritual power and Purification.
One attack is that thing she did with her hand on the 1st episode.When her hands give off a slight glow and she zaps you back. And then there is the arrows,.... but one of her attacks confuse me… her whole body burst into a purple glow/flame and sends anything around her flying in the other direction, that is the attack that KOd Sesshormaru. Then there is the “Ultimate arrow” but I see no difference between that and the other arrows she shoots.

But maybe this will happen one episode, in the game she only has 3 shards and it is based pretty far in the series. I just thought it was odd because her eyes start to glow and she explodes in that light. Maybe that will be something that happens in a final battle…?

I totally think Kagome has some tricks left hidden up her sleeve...even if SHE doesn't know it yet ^_~ She's the reincarnation of Kikyou but it's hinted that she's more powerful: think about how Kanna found it impossible to steal her soul, for one. Besides, I think it definitely says something that Sesshoumaru took her powers seriously--she broke his armor in ep 17 (18?) and he immediately treated her as a threat. Sesshoumaru is hands-down the most over-powered character in the series outside of Inuyasha himself, so for him to worry about Kagome...yeah.

Besides, I'd love to see Kagome take Naraku down. She could purify his ass to kingdom come.

Hell yeah. Much as I would love to see Inuyasha vaporize Naraku with a Bakuryuuha in the final battle, seeing Kagome purify him with a super-charged-up arrow would be almost just as cool. She's already come close to doing it once, after all.

About the arrows... I don't know how easy it is to come across arrows in the Sengoku Jidai. She never seems to have that many on her, and there have been times before when she's run out. Maybe she's just trying to save her ammunition? As much as she's improved since the beginning of the series, she's still not a perfect shot, so maybe her strategy is to wait until it's absolutely necessary. Just a thought. But I'd like to see her get some new abilities too... it would be about time, that's for sure.

Along similar lines, when fighting in close combat, arrows can be awfully dangerous. Imagine Kagome lobbing arrows at an enemy while Yasha's jumping around with his sword like a crazed monkey. With her aim and his random attacking, she'd be just as likely to make a little doggy-kabob as purify a demon ;;

That said, I do think there have been plenty of times when Kagome should've been using her bow but instead left it all to Inuyasha. I guess it's the Series Is Named After Me effect

Yeah I agree. I think someone should make her a target to practice with. she would probably take out everyone but the demon.
