At the fight of the capturing of guild units, he changes his attaker to Guild, becoming, "The bullets of Guild will pass through, evading Moran Shetland's body...", but after Donya's inquiry if it's a spell, Moran decides to change it to protect Donya from the bullets. Despite her efforts to finish the other half of one of the chants, it does not work to her will. So therefore Moran's last spell was cast:

"The bullets of Guild will pass through, evading Donya Shea's body..."

It appears he is actually a mage, capable of creating and directing protection spells! Even though Donya was nowhere near the combat for reason of dropping her rifle, I have come to think that spell altered fate so Donya would be away from the firefight. Thus my conclusion. Moran Shetland was a mage from the start.

ahahahahhaha in the first episode i remember seeing Moran hiding for most of the battle... so maybe his "spell" is a spell of invisablily or better yet confict avoidence... bah why did Lavi make him a crummy medal... she realy should have traded her high grade water for some gloves of missle snaring, they would have been alot more useful for moran... (making it possible for him to snag missles out the air with his bair hands...)

Well moran was not hiding... He was on the second wave of infantry riflemen, and wasn't ordered to charge untill 1 St wave was... errr slaughtered?...

and after... well is not a healthy exercise to take a walk on the ship's decks looking cool and armed whith a gas-operated rifle while enemy ships fire dozens of 5 inch rounds at your ship, I find more utile to find cover, ...

That's the way battles were started and sometimes drawn out in the Napoleonic era and the American Civil War. It's not a pretty thing. Rifles of those times were not very accurate from what I understand, and forces could find themselves faced off less than a football field's length apart. The mid-air aspect of LE makes charging impossible, so it's a battle of attrition.

The rounds (ball-bearings) are more like an inch, or an inch and a half in diameter. Can you imagine the weight and mass of carrying multiple 5 inch steel balls?

Moran a mage? LOL His words were a good luck charm akin to a rabbits foot or the unwashed headband of an athlete. It's a little eerie now looking back at his words, but that’s all.

Well this was better than standing still under enemy fire while waiting to shoot napoleonic era style.

Is ducking and finding cover SO dishonorable?


Moran was so unlucky, if he only changed the spell to:

"The bullets of Guild will desintegrate, evading everyone's body...",

or perhaps a more efficient one:

"A SWAT team will appear and take care of things..."

and the "PUTIN's solution, in this case the most efficient...

"we'll spread that NEarly non-lethal gas (the used in the theater crisis) into the unit and shot the guilders later"



well in this case, magic can be used to go directly to the end...

"The bullets of Guild will pass through, missing completly Donya Shea's body and moran Shetland body because we will be in a sunny beach together"


If moran was a magician... he was so inefficient...

He should have started chanting his name when he saw that Donya couldn't get in the unit.
